Durarara

So there I was, bored out of my mind on the internet. Suddenly, something catches my eye.
Durarara!!
These letters were staring at me on the screen, just begging me to check it out, so I clicked the link to episode 1.
Boy am I glad i did. What really caught my attention in this anime is how much mystery there is in the beginning. Your thrown into a catchy opening theme, but then things turn darker and more serious. A mysterious person with cat ears on a bike helmet, flying vending machines, gangs, and Ikebukuro, Tokyo.

As the series picks up, you find out about all the characters in astounding detail. Details on their past, present, and possible future. You also discover that in one way or another, the characters are all connected. There is also a great amount of twisted love in this anime, such as Namies love for Seiji, her younger brother.

This anime takes place in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, Japan. I was looking through some videos the other day and there was a comparison of the setting in the anime with real places in Ikebukuro. It amazed me to see the places looked almost exactly alike! The animators must have put alot of time into making this anime. Each voice actor is perfect for their character, and they get the emotion spot-on. The music is odd, but it fits the anime very well in an odd way. The storyline was a little hard for me, a 14 year old, to grasp at first, but it gets better and things started connecting after about 10 episodes.

Within all the mystery, plot twists, and emotion, there is comedy. Walker and Erika crack me up!! They are classic otakus, right down to buying many extra copies of manga for 'various purposes', and relating almost everything to some type of anime or manga! And let us not forget the epic cell phone stomping in episode 3, and the 'Yo, yo, yo! HEY MAN!!'. Got a great laugh out of that one.

This anime is absolutley amazing, awesome, astounding, mysterious, eye-catching, stylish, and funny. Some episodes will tug heartstrings more than the others, but an ejoyable anime it is! So go watch it!

This is definately one of the most original and enjoyable animes I have seen in a while. After the initial first few episodes of setting up who is who the story hooked me and has not let go. This is noe of the few animes that I am not able to see what is going to happen. After just 19 episodes I am sat waiting each week for the new episode to come out. I will not waffle about the story as it is one of those stories that if I try to write it here I will not do it justice. Go and try out this anime and I am sure most people will enjoy it.

A well-written anime that starts out as a great example of what the medium can give. As opposed to the countless number of high school dramas, this one manages to catch the watcher's interest from the first episode and refuses to let go. The storyline keeps a great pace with plenty of interesting twists.
Albiet some of the characterization is a tad lacking, with entire character backgrounds given away in a single episode. It's still my current favorite anime series at the moment.

This show is mostly about coincidences, it has such a complex plot it's almost safe to say it's impossible to summerize it.
In a town, there are three main forces ruling or wondering around,
Yellow Square: deadly, but later disappear around same time as blue square, a gang them often have conflict with.
Dollars: an invisible online gang, many believe them to be dangerous
Slasher: a person with a sword who cuts people, making them into its children.

Izaya Orihara, an information broker, who loves humans and loves toying with them. His intention is currently unknown when he turned the top three forces against each other. and all of them are friends.

it may sound boring, but it is not. This show alwasy leav an everlasting feelig, and gives you a big shock at ending.
some intersting facts

Izaya Orihara has an archenemy, Shizuo, who has incredible strength, according to an underground doctor, or childhood friends, many gain these kind of incredible strength when in danger, but it does not always release it because the body won't be able to take it. Shizuo's mind does not do that.
Dullhan: a creatuer in this anime known as the headless rider, in love with Shinra, the underground doctor mention above, really headless

I'm somewhat new to the world of anime, but I've watched my fair share of series. This one blows them all away though. Except for a few more recent episodes with a bit too much flashback for my taste, everything else is near perfect. The story is fast, entertaining, and engaging, and the plot twists are hard hitting and genuinely unexpected. The characters are relatable and interesting, but most of all flawed and human. Also, although DRRR has some supernatural elements, it retains a certain aspect of quirky realism. The animation is top notch at all times, which I find refreshing after watching some anime use filler or more simplified animation to fill spare time. The only tiny flaw I have with the soundtrack choices was the a-little-too-pop-y 'Trust Me' in the ending for the first season/arc. Other than that the OP choices are flawlessly linked to the intro and the in-show music is original and striking. Simply my favorite anime yet.

I tend to think of myself as a fairly intelligent anime viewer, and... as a general "know-it-all" when it comes to movie and series plots. I'm often the guy that spoils the ending of a series or movie within the first five minutes when i predict the ending and everyone yells at me. This series put me in my place so badly it made my head spin. Never have I been so wrong about each and every plot twist in a show. This series really is pure gold.

There are always those moments in anime... you know what I'm talking about... those moments, when something AWESOME just happened, or when some huge life changing event gets proclaimed publicly so that not only does the audience know all about the change, but the whole world knows.... this series is full of those moments that leave you cheering in front of your computer.

The only thing I can really complain about for this entire series is the fact that they changed the theme song half way through. I wish they had stuck with the original all the way to the end. I would have loved them much more for it.
