    Great show - excellent characters
I love this show - though I already own it, having bought it when Sentai released it. The characters are well developed, not stereotypical and the way their stories intertwine is done well in a way that's rarely seen in anime.

    EF- A TALE OF MELODIES
a combo of prequel & sequel....had 2 rewatch EF-MEMORIES b4 watching this one...very confusing, sad & happy all the while... can't say this one's as good as MEMORIES tho...but very good all the same...the flashbacks R confusing & the story becomes jumbled...think this would hv been better as a 3 season chronological Tale...the 2 identical cities didn't make any sense & whatsup w/the German? HUH? ...

    **Tales of Melodies**
Ran into this one and finally got around to watching it. Can say watch Ef-Tale of Memories first otherwise you will be watching this backwards.
Although sometimes hard to follow the many characters and who is who once we get to this season a lot of this universe shows how small this world can really be. It has some happy, sad and meaningful parts. If you don't like depth in your stories or ...

    Fascinating & Aggravating
This is a beautiful story that will keep you on your toes throughout and will leave a fuzzy-warm feeling when you've finished watching. The story is unique and because it's not all in chronological order, it will have you very involved trying to figure out all the ties and connections. It is definitely worth watching!

BUT, there are a few things to rant about:
For some reason, they have ...

Tragic, Beautiful and Full of Promise
This is a tale that is hard to really describe, because - like the previous series it follows - it is more about the characters than a central plotline. A rich and vibrant grouping of vignettes that slowly work up to a crescendo of emotional turmoil that is followed by a warm ending that will lift your spirits. Masterful... bravissimo!

A notable conclusion to the previous anime.
First off, crunchyroll needs to combine this and Ef-A Tale of Memories into one entry, because you really need to watch Memories before you watch Melodies. I suppose you could watch this on its own, but you miss a lot of the subtext.

Taken as a whole, this series does a good job of filling in the blanks left over from Memories, although they rely a bit too heavily on obscure coincidences to ...

  • A sad and tragic, bittersweet end to a series.
After watching Ef A Tale of Memories, I jumped straight into this, and boy does it get sad. It feels like the series was making up for tear-jerking moments and piled them into the ending of Melodies. The series has it's characters face mortality and abandonment, loss and grief and all other kinds of depressing situations. And yet, it comes out with a wonderful and uplifting message, and ties ...

A must watch.. You wont regret it!
Just amazing.. That's all that can be said. Such a well put together anime. Your missing out if you don't watch this one. Make sure you watch A Tale of Memories first though. It will help you understand it more.
