Good watch and cute.

I liked how sweet it was and inspirational it was for two old friends to do things together I was disappointed the fact it was so short. If only it had been longer i would have possibly given it a high rating. It reminded me how much I still wish to climb and still working on the stepping stones to reach that point of Mt. Fuji.

Una serie corta para un poco de entretenimiento moe

La temática de esta serie es sencilla, como cualquier animé corto. Se trata de una chica algo tímida llamada Aoi que comienza con su hobby de escalar montañas inducida por su energética amiga Hinata.

Aquí no hay trama en realidad. Sólo se trata de las dos chicas haciendo su hobby (comprando equipo, preparando materiales) y es algo aburrido para los que no estén acostumbrados a animés cortos ...

La temática de esta serie es sencilla, como cualquier animé corto. Se trata de una chica algo tímida llamada Aoi que comienza con su hobby de escalar montañas inducida por su energética amiga Hinata.

Aquí no hay trama en realidad. Sólo se trata de las dos chicas haciendo su hobby (comprando equipo, preparando materiales) y es algo aburrido para los que no estén acostumbrados a animés cortos (como yo). Pero son las cosas pequeñas, las pequeñas lecciones que aprende Aoi durante la serie, lo que hacen que este animé valga la pena.

Como extra, Yuka Iguchi provee la voz de Aoi y Kana Asumi la de Hinata, dos actrices que van perfectamente con las chicas y sus personalidades.

Al final, es una serie perfecta para relajarse un rato.

Cute Slice-of-life :)

Basically, it's a generic slice-of-live anime revolving around a socially inept high school student who suddenly starts making buddies through a new hobby forced on her by a previous friend. Even though it's pretty generic for what it is, it does have its charm. Imagine K-on, but condensed in 3-minutes and about hiking/mountain climbing. You watch these girls grow and just enjoy each others' time ...

Basically, it's a generic slice-of-live anime revolving around a socially inept high school student who suddenly starts making buddies through a new hobby forced on her by a previous friend. Even though it's pretty generic for what it is, it does have its charm. Imagine K-on, but condensed in 3-minutes and about hiking/mountain climbing. You watch these girls grow and just enjoy each others' time and just helps you realize what makes friendships like that so special.

Standard conecpt, but it is well done

I was discouraged by the first episode of Encouragement of Climb. The impression it left me with was that socially-inept Aoi was going to be driven to insanity by her hyperactive friend Hinata. By the end of the second episode, my impression changed, and I realized that this series is a lot more kind-hearted than that.

Essentially, this is a "young girl learns how to be socially adept" series that has a theme of mountain hiking around it. The central themes here have been done before by many other anime series, and they will be covered by many more in the future. There are no real surprises to be found here.

I did enjoy the fact that the storytelling was direct and to the point. There is no room for filler in these 3:30 length episodes. None of it feels rushed, and none of it feels stretched out; at least not in the 12 episodes I watched. This is pleasant anime that demands little from its audience, and that is not a bad thing.

hobby anime is just the thing

I live cute anime and dramatic anime that cover detailed aspects of hobbies or some art form. Yumeiro Patisserie with baking, Glass Mark with acting, Miracle train with travel/train hobby, and that one about the girl who gets the magic violin.

The First mountain climibng anime in Japan

Unlike US, mountain climbing is one of the most popular hobby in Japan which is the nation of so many mountains. You see mountain to climb from any city or town. I am glad that finally there is an anime based on mountain climbing. In Japan, "tozan" mountain climbing is somewhere between mountaineering and hiking. The quality of anime is superb, especially the art of mountains. I wish two girls ...

The quality of anime is superb, especially the art of mountains. I wish two girls challenge the more serious mountain in the show, and I wanted to see Mount Fuji. I didn't like that the episode 10 introduced a new girl, and the show is becoming like K-ON, which distracts the goal of the show.

Cute and Entertaining Anime. Beautiful (especially for a 3 minute anime)

Encouragement of Climb is one of my top 3 favorite short anime (1. Poyopoyo and 2. Recorder and Randsell) It was quite entertaining. It has a smooth animation style (which is fantastic for a 3 minute anime). The episodes are cute and entertaining and you'll want to watch all of them!

Many people are reviewing this show as terrible because they think 3 minute anime aren't worth it (I believe this because people who are reviewing these "short" anime to be one star since they aren't full length. They are from four panel manga and their hard to expand to 24 min anime. CR has them but there short because CR is a on demand service)

Encouragement of Climb or Yama no Susume New Anime 2013

Encouragement of Climb is a really cute new anime show. It
is based on a popular anime manga by the same name. The story is about two
anime girls, one named Yukimura Aoi and the other Hinata . When they were little, they
saw the sunrise at the top of a mountain. They made a promise to see that
sunrise together again. As it is usual, both anime girls went their separate ways.
As time passed, Aoi became acrophobic.
This means that Aoi is afraid of heights. As for Hinata, she became a passionate
mountain climber. It’s like her thing.

Eventually, Aoi and Hinata managed to go to the same school
together. Hinata was shocked to hear that Aoi was afraid of heights. Now, the
anime show becomes about Hinata trying to help Aoi overcome her fears. Along
the way, they meet some interesting people. For the most part, they start with
climbing small hills. It is Hinata’s hopes to get Aoi to overcome her fear
little by little. In doing so, both one day will see the sunrise on top of a
mountain together. Truly, encouragement of climb is a cute new anime show. I am
certain you will like it a lot. It is 5 stars worthy.

Enjoyable Show, but too short

This show is pretty difficult to review. I like it, but I feel it should be a 20 minute anime, not a 3 minute anime. There is real plot, and the characters have personalities, but the show only has 3 minutes to establish this, so everything feels rushed. This is also a moe-heavy show, so if you don't like moe, you probably won't like this show. However, it is funny, and I like the plot I've ...

This is also a moe-heavy show, so if you don't like moe, you probably won't like this show. However, it is funny, and I like the plot I've seen so far.

I'm giving it a 5 because it is very good in comparison to the other 3 minute shows that I've seen. It wouldn't be fair to compare it to 20 minute shows.

They might be enough for Encouragement of Climb. This is ultimately a show that utilizes flat, archetypal moe girls made theoretically unique by a niche hobby - in this case, mountaineering. Provided for the viewer is one charmingly befuddled and socially inept girl, whose meekness is matched by the vivacity of her overbearing friend. They, together, form a comic duo that is probably very familiar to the average Anime viewer.

Render these two in a high school setting and you have both the dynamic of this particular show and the dynamic of, well, a lot of other stuff. It's inoffensive material, and if you're looking for a small dose of cute girls being cute (with, one detects, a faint yuri undertone) Encouragement of Climb is perfectly suited for the job.
