This might not be what you think
VDon's review is very good, but I'd like to add my own voice in support of this show. It's not magic girl, or action-packed, or all Mary Sue/Pollyanna cute girls winning everyone's hearts. It has a slice of life feel, and describes the ups and downs of the life of Erin, from the time she's a young girl until she grows to adulthood and becomes a beastmaster. Erin faces many harsh realities of ...

Don't let the cute girl and the title deceive you
I've had the pleasure of being able to really explore this title and while I was expecting some sort of cutesy nice girl anime, and it does have those moments, what I got instead was an anime with so much depth, plot and heart. This series is full of political infighting, civil rights struggles, war, and all sorts of action while still being able to relay a very morally grounded message of ...

A fantasy centered around a young girl
Are you a fan of Serei no Moribito? Are you also interested in fantasy with a slice of life kind of feel to it? Well, you don't have to look any further. This story revolves around a young girl call Erin. Her life is split so far into chapters of her life. From episodes 1 to 10, she grew up in a small village with her mother who is a Touda vet. But her life changed the summer of her tenth year. ...

  • Despite the bad translations and subtitles, it is an amazing anime.
The biggest thing that will be quite noticeable are the bad translations and subtitles. Key words and phrases get rewritten over the course of the series and some whole lines are untranslated. Fortunately, those are relatively small bumps and does not take away from the anime. Even the untranslated lines are ones that you can get the gist of through context.

    Despite those shortcomings, though, ...

  • A little slow to start....
but once you really get into the meat of the story, its definitely worth the watch.

There are lots of flashbacks and reused animation that can get a little annoying, but the story and the characters are the highlights of this anime. Amazing character development, strong female lead, a little bit of romance, slice of life, and war scenes all wrapped up into one amazing series.

    This show is ...

  • Beast Player Erin - Amazing
Beast Player Erin is based on a a series of light novels (which have unfortunately, not been translated into English) about a girl named Erin and her ability to connect with people, animals, and celestial beings (Tohda and Ohju). This really is an anime about a girl growing up and going through hard times, but the amazing thing is that, although she grows up living in those dire circumstances, she ...

  • An Absolutely Heartwarming Anime
Haven't watched one this well done in a long time. Beautiful story about a strong willed heroine building bonds with monstrous animals and becoming a key to saving a nation. Good feelings all around with this one with beautiful soundtrack.

A must see!!! Its amazing!! Shame this show is not more popular. You will enjoy it!! I grantee it!! Erin is such an amazing character! The plot line is brilliant. This show is such a anime refresher to all the main stream pointless stuff out these days.

    Kemono no Souja Erin
There is a lot to love... and hate... about this anime, and I loved it, hated it, and watched it almost nonstop to the end. There's action, intrigue, baby animals, touching scenes that will leave you crying, amazing art, and comedy.

Visually, Erin is a little confusing, with each element different from every other in the series, but together they just work. The character art is ...

    Beautiful and Thought Provoking
So as an Anime fan, storytelling style, and over all aesthetics count for a lot in my book. Beast Player Erin is a layered story that covers a breadth of themes both light and sweet and more deeply woven plot. While the plot moves slowly at times, most of the elements were must haves to properly tell Erin's story. The animation itself has a lovely quality to it, with several cuts of either bug ...
