Eyeshield 21

I won't bother creating a synopsis for the story, there is already one on the main page anyway.

I will start with the greatest asset this anime has to offer, and that is the sound. The music and voices in this anime are absolutely phenomenal. Each character has their own interesting personality, and their voice actors reflect that perfectly. The music also far surpasses Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece.

The characters are all interesting, and there was very few I actually didn't care for, and with a cast so large, that is saying something. There is a favorite character for everyone in this series, which is why I stuck with it until the end.

That does however bring me to a problem. Unlike the series's mentioned above, the animation in Eyeshield 21 falls short. The series is typically well drawn, with a few awkward angles, but the overall flow seems very rushed and unappealing. This does get significantly better as the series goes on, but only the last episodes really look as good as the whole series should have in the first place. Prepare for some lackluster effects and bad transitional sequences. That being said, this is really the only factor that holds Eyeshield back from getting a touchdown.

The story is simplistic, but gets a good score. The reason for this isn't so much the s tory itself, but the story TELLING that propels the series forward. It is rare for me to actually care about fictional characters and their goals,but I really wanted Deimon to make it to the Christmas Bowl.

The anime does end at episode 145, which oddly enough, is one game BEFORE the Christmas Bowl, likely due to low ratings, but don't let them fool you, this series is awesome. The manga continued up until chapter 333, so for those eager to finish the story after the anime ends, the manga is where you should turn to, and you WILL be.

If the animation was better, this series would be a 5/5, but still gets a well deserved 4.5

I find that this anime is ok but it got so repetitive it drove me insane so I dropped it. I stopped at about ep 85 so I watched a decent half of it. And trust me, every time they went into a football game it was basically the same.

The Devil Bats (Sena's team) start off kinda bad since their opponent needs to show off their "special skills". And Sena is always so scared at the beginning part of the game then he is all like "We NEED to get to the Christmas bowl." and then starts to get his team ahead when it comes to points. But then once again the other team has to pull out another technique and then Sena would become scared once more. But then the Devil Bats would come again with fire and pull off a win. But only just barely. They threw in some different things to keep people watching during the games. Which also caught me off guard. But it was basically that set-up throughout all of the games. And the transition in between games never made me want to keep watching I always had to force myself to watch the next episode. And usually when I have to do that with a series I usually don't end up liking it.

The music was quite good it always hyped you up on energy and excitement when it was at a climax during a game. I even have some of the openings and endings downloaded onto my ipod

The characters are interesting, somewhat lame, and cliche'. The reason I say interesting is because Hiruma has always something up his sleeve hehehe I love that guy ^^.

The animation is also ok... not the greatest in my opinion because I have seen better, and even for older type animes. It is bearable to watch visually, but I still would prefer a different style of animation.

Overall I say 3 stars because I enjoyed it, but not enough to keep watching just because it became so repetitive and predictable.

You can give it a shot but if you are not into a repetitive anime, then I don't recommend it. An anime I do recommend though is Deadman Wonderland. Eyeshield 21 is definite hardcore sports anime. Heck, its even sponsored by the Japanese NFL and received backing in the United States as a football series on a sports channel. And now,…don’t get turned off. Because if you do, you’re missing out on one of the most entertaining series people disregard just because of its non-traditional anime content.

I have the Manga well most of them and its really great the characters are amazing and the storyline it just gets better as you watch and they all go through hard times in this anime people leave people quit but its worth the time to really watch this one Anime me and my best friend are addicted to this and she has more Eyeshield 21 books then i do and I'm the one that showed her this Anime that's sad i know but you will love watching it i know i did and im still watching it again and again cause it just don't get old once you start to watch it more and more so watch it its worth it i mean that. Football to them is like its the end if they lose or if they win its everything it means the world in this anime and some of the parts will just make you laugh so hard done that and so i hope you watch it its amazing.

This show captures the excitment and suspense of a real football like never before seen. It builds up walls and challenges to conquer, that develops rich, intricate characters who grab and pull you to their struggles. You will end up rooting and cheering for the this team of misfits, simply hanging on every single play and action in anticipation. The story is built so that you can't stop watching it, especially if you are in the middle of one of the games. The combination of music and animation help to craft this riveting story about something as primal as a football game. I recommend this to anime and football fans alike.

Eyeshield 21 is a nice combo of football and comedy. Watching this series made me laugh every so often and also taught me a morale of teamwork sportsmanship and respect. Eyeshield or Sena is a very shy boy but when he joins the football team his whole world goes upside down. Sena is then a hero to not only the football team but to Deimon highschool. Why? Well because the football team is not very good and Sena makes the team noticeable with his speedy legs. Hence the name "Light speed running back" given to him by the the devilish QB Hiruma.

well the anime is great fun and has several funny characters, the himura is one of the best characters of Eyeshield 21, the penalty is final and no fillers and the manga ends.

Eyeshield 21 concentrates on a reluctant running-back, Sena, as he is blackmailed into playing for the Deimon Devilbats, a football team with a losing streak but have big dreams to go to the National Championships.

Eyeshield 21, is so funny, every time i watch Eyeshield 21 i burst out laughing at Hiruma and his gun collection he has a different gun in every episode. LOLAGE XD.
I hope that the creaters make a similar Anime series.

my brother told me to watch this and I never expect that eyeshield21 will be a sports, football! it's my first time to watch this kind of anime but its really interesting at first I'm bored but the moment I saw sena run that gives me interest also hiruma and the rest of the team.
