Addictive and funny and addictive anime
Ive only watched about 8 episodes of eye shield 21 so far and I gotta say im really enjoying what im seeing. Its been a while since I found a REALLY juicy anime to get my teeth into and this is it. Gotta really love the character Yoichi Hiruma.

Especially with the why his characters shown and the comedy value he brings to the anime itself

    Not just another shonen
As someone who may not be into football, its easy to overlook this gem. How could I possibly get into a series about a sport I don't even like? Because Eyeshield 21 makes you fall in love with the characters. Its a series that cares deeply for them and treats them all well. Even characters not on the main team.

  • Football in an Over the Top package
This show takes almost everything about American Football and exaggerates it to comical genius. From the different players and their personalities to the fact that each and every move has an over the top execution to it (i.e. a widely utilized defensive lineman move is the swim, which the lineman pushes and goes over the blocker. In this, the swim is actually a gigantic tidal wave that crashes ...

  • Sport's anime on it's Best!
Eyeshield 21 is a anime about a boy called Sena,
He masks his identity with the eyeshield for about half the anime and still keeps the name after it.
The greatness of this anime is that the boy Sena starts out as a wimp and through the anime u can see him progress he becomes greater, faster and stronger and eventually will become the strongest runningback of the world!

I Can't Get It Out of My Mind
This anime does have it's boring parts but it is directly followed by something amazing (ex. repetitive football plays... prevailing 10 minutes later). Even though the anime was cut short from the manga, it left such a lasting impression on me especially with the future ending. It shows that the following year, Sena becomes captain of the football team and continues to run to victory. In the ...

  • I love it, but I loved reading it more
I love Eyeshield 21, but if you only watch the anime, you're missing out on so much. Yusuke Murate is an AMAZING artist and Riichiro Inagaki continues the story on much farther than in the anime. It's the only manga series I know I could read indefinitely and never get tired of. It has all your favorite characters, but the bonds between them seem more real and is illustrated beautifully. So ...

  • Best Sport Anime I've Seen So Far!
I really love this show and showed us how anybody can become a hero no matter what you are...(even this is just a fiction anime). All of the Devil's Bat team members have it's own important role during the story. They changed to a badass person, grew stronger, and became the champion in the end. This has a great plot and one of the best sport anime I've seen (The second is Kuroko's Basketball).

A solid show, but it has its flaws
Please don't be fooled by the myriad 5 star reviews out there, this show is NOT the greatest of all the sports anime, not even close. (MY personal fav is Hajime No Ippo) But, it IS a really solid watch, and the humor is what will keep you interested. As with all shonen, Eyeshield 21 carries the common themes of friendship, trying your best in the face of adversity, and personal growth that all ...

  • I don't watch football, but....
This anime is truly a masterpiece. There are very few series out there with characters as developed as the ones found in Eyeshield 21. You can't even come to hate most of the "tough, bad guy" characters because the show highlights their feelings and motives. I also love the morals that the story teaches: you can always have different dreams, hard work will get you to places, never give up if ...
