Premise: Three young girls from a magical kingdom have to defend it from the wicked Cendrillion, and a boy from Erde (Earth) is key to their success. Can they protect him from danger and save the day, or will the forces of darkness defeat them?

Folklore: The Japanese are reinterpreting European stories in this series. People who grew up with fairy tales are likely to recognize Little Red Riding Hood (Akazukin), Snow White (Shirayukihime), Sleeping Beauty (Ibarahime), Hansel, Gretel, Cinderella (Cendrillion), Puss in Boots (Randagio), and more.

Magical Girl: It’s not technically a magical girl show in the traditional way- girl meets mentor, gets powers and a flashy outfit, forms a team, and then fights evil. The musketeers don’t transform or receive new abilities, but every fight requires the same battle cry, the use of silly little egg phones, and stock footage attack sequences. Watch a few episodes, and you’ll see it.

Overall: Fairy Musketeers is a childish anime and a fresh take on both fairy tales and the magical girl genre. There’s not a lot of tension, because the jushi overcome obstacles with ease, but there are certainly worse shows out there.

Fairy Musketeers, if you know about basic fairytales you'll understand the characters in the story.
A anime for kids i think maybe around the ages of 10. Mild violence and hardly any blood whatsoever.
The storyline is unique and if you have the time you should watch this anime. Theres parts to make you laugh. . .
Parts that will make you cry. A story about friendship and trust, and what can happen if you cant forgive and release
those evil and bad feelings deep in your heart.

Long, long ago, there existed a world of magic and science. But having both powers was making people conceited and lazy. So God split the world in to the world of science, Elde, and the world of magic, Fandavale. One day in Fandavale, a terrible witch named Cendrillon (Cinderella) revives. Cendrillon plots to rule both worlds, and searches for the "key" which holds tremendous power.

A young boy from Elde by the name of Sōta meets a mysterious girl from Fandavale, Akazukin (Red Riding Hood), and her talking wolf companion, Val. Sōta learns that he is the key Cendrillon is searching for. Now it is up to Akazukin, Val, and the other Fairy Musketeers to protect Sōta from Cendrillon and her Nightmarelians who wish to obtain the power he mysteriously possesses.

Akazukin:
--The titular heroine from the magic world Fandavale (Magic). She is one of the Three Musketeers, and has come to the Elde world to protect Souta who holds the Elde Key. She uses magic, but her specialty seems to be physical attacks. She can control fire magic. Later on she gets an upgrade in her powers when the Three Musketeers try to obtain the ultimate magic. She was the one that received it and when activated it she called it Princess Mode due to the fact it makes her look like a princess like the other two Musketeers. The power is like the other card magic she usually uses. The only thing is, it does not stay active all the time, only when used. She was born in Vise village, the same village where she met Val for the first time: the morning after the village was destroyed. Eleven years before the story, the village was destroyed by werewolves led by Jed. Jed attacked the village to kill his younger brother Cain, who is really Val. During the destruction, she lost her parents and Cain's mother.

Souta:
-- The protagonist from the real world Elde (Science). He has tendency to talk to flowers in the morning on his way to school, and after talking to them they mysteriously get more charming. He cares about the flowers a lot, and they help him out in return. Souta seems to have some power of his own: the first was discovered in an attempt to save Ringo from falling by Hansel's push; he unknowingly used an unknown flash and destroyed every opposing monster in the building. After he used it he did not realize that he contained that power and thought it was Shiryuki's amazing power. He also reacted to a story card given to him by an elderly lady. So far he has collected 5 story cards of the Two World fairy tale stories (which tells the story how Marlene turned in to Cendrillon and her reason for her hatred). He is a kind and caring person, who can tell good people apart from bad. He is also smart and helps out in certain situations that the group befalls. His key power is activated whenever strong emotion is activated. He is the key of Elde because his mother Soya was one of the sages who defeated Cendrillon 1000 years ago, and went to the Elde world after to give birth to a child who will be safer in Elde then Fandavale.

Shirayukihime:
-- From the magic world Fandavale. She is also one of the Three Musketeers, and came to Souta to protect him. She is the type that knows the intellectual magic, as she was top in her magic classes. Her specialty is magic attacks. She likes Souta and always hugs him or tries to get close to him, much to Ringo's dismay. She can control ice magic and also use it to control water magic. She is in fact a princess as her name suggests; however after her father remarried to a woman controlled by Cendrillon, the kingdom was taken away.

Ibarahime:
--From the magic world Fandavale. She is the 3rd of the Three Musketeers. She represents the Sleeping Beauty, hence the reason she is usually half asleep. She uses a torn whip to attack. Since her specialty is the Earth elementa, she can heal plants. We find out later that she is actually the princess of the Elf race, and she was born with a magic talent, unlike those who have to learn it. She is always sleepy because she does not sleep at night; if she does her magic would go out of control and hurt people. She can control plant magic to control Earth magic.

Ringo:
-- Souta's childhood friend, and quite close to him. She wakes him up in the morning. She is the only one who understands Souta when he talks to flowers. She also worries about him a lot, and does not want to be away from him, like when Souta was going to go to the Fandavale world. She gets angry whenever Shirayuki clings on to Souta. She is a very good cook, especially with meat and potatoes. She has a crush on Souta.

Val:
--Akazukin's companion who fights alongside with her. He, like Akazukin, loves food from Elde, and even at some serious moments they would worry about food first. He seems to dislike Jed-same, a Lycan (werewolf). This was noticed when Souta was going to tell him that he saw a Lycan named Jed, and Val stopped him from saying it. He is Cain, Akazukin's childhood friend, but ever since the night he was wounded from Jed, he lost the ability to transform to human form.

Cendrillion:
-- She is the evil witch that is trying to get Elde's key that Souta has. Her real name is Marlene. In the beginning she was good, but ever since the boy she liked from Elde had to go back she started to hate the concept of two worlds. Her hatred grew when one day she found a way to get to Elde and saw through the mirror that the person she liked was now with another girl. This led her to aim for dark magic and get revenge on god. Her final transformation to Cenderillon happened when the boy she loved came back to stop her, got in the way of an attack and died.

Hamelin:
-- He is a Leaf Knight who guarded the Fandavale Castle. He was given order from the king to wait at the captured castle until Souta the key holder comes, and tell him, "I believe in you"(meaning the king believes Souta will save the magic world). After he finished his mission to tell Souta the words from the king, he went a separate way to try to save the king in his own way, for he prefers doing things alone. He specializes in music magic. He hates pumpkins because of Akazukin, as she used to wear a pumpkin mask when she was little and scared him with it, and ever since he has still been afraid of them. He seems to have some feelings for Ringo.

Gretel:
-- She is Hansel's sister and cares for him. In the beginning she transferred in to Souta's school and acted like a nice girl in front of him, but it was soon found out it was a trap to try to take Souta. After losing the first fight against Akazukin and Shirayuki, she has tried to capture Souta many times to be acknowledged by her brother. It seems when she and her brother were lost in the Forest of Okashi, they used to be in good terms living in a house built of candy. All she really wants is to go back to being how they used to be instead of fighting for Cendrillon the witch. Even though she is an enemy Souta always treats her nicely and even protects her, because he knows that she is a good person.

Hansel:
-- He hates the weak, and even goes far as making his sister, who was hurt, feel bad. He was taught dark magic by Cendrillon, and the more he learned, the less he cared for his sister.

Randagio:
-- One of Cendrillon's minor servants, who is no threat to the main cast. He tries to capture Souta many times but always fails. He has three followers and as a group. they use music magic. He always carries a backpack with canned food with him. His aim is to be in Cendrillon's main army.

Trude:
-- Servant of Cendrillion. She is actually Souta's mother manipulated by Cendrillion's dark magic. She can turn anyone who look at her eyes into doll, as well as turn anything into stone.

King Fernando:
-- He is the king of Fandavale as well the Fandavale's key. He is a kind hearted person as describe by the three musketeers. In the series, he spends most of his time in Cendrillon's castle as prisoner. Even though he is prison, he continues to smile and stay optimistic. He also has the ability to control wind magic.

Fairy Musketeers go on a delightful quest :-D .

I've found this to be a very enjoyable watch even though it may of took a few episodes to get into it but as it is a bit childish and kind of disney animation viewing look at first but you get use to it :-). The introduction to the episodes is fairly enjoyable and do have their cute factor..

The main actor in this storyliine is a boy called Souta ,who has a best school friend Ringo, they go to school as per normal :-)..

other actors which shortly follow in the episodes who are to protect Souta are
** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**

Basically souta ends being the key to erde i.e earth , and thats why he needs protecting. because he is sort after by a black magic witch (marlene) . who has captured the king of phandavale so souta and the gag end up going there to rescue him. because when ,when both keys are united key of phandervale and the key of erde it releases imense power.

this is a work while watch even though you may think for the number of eps it is a drag

i hope this was some helpful , i didnt want to give to much away like some reviews.

If you’re looking for an action packed, blood, guts, and gore…then this is NOT your anime. This is an anime that my 2 year old niece and 4 year old nephew sat and watched with me. This is very cute and very Fairy tale-ish. Like with all fairy tales there is a moral to this and it is seen the first episode. (I wont spoil it for you!) Now the plot had me guessing for the first few episodes cause it was kind of all over the place but then it got really clear later on. I personaly loved all the charactors and thought they where all well thought out. The animation is very clear and one of the best iv seen in a while. For someone my age this was a very good take-me-back-to-the-good-old-days kind of anime that made me say "aaaawwwwww so cute". For a kids show this really had me guessing all the way up till the end. Even for us old folks this is a very good show.

If you like fairy tales with a twist, try watching this one where a boy named Souta is trying to get the full story his Mom was trying to tell before she was taken to a land called Phandavale where magic and tech are mixed together. Watch as Souta and Ringo go to that far off land and have adventures with Redhood a.k.a. Little red riding hood, Snowwhite a.k.a. witch, Briar Rose a.k.a. elf that uses magic to use vining plants as weapons, a talking wolf named Vale and all the rest ;). Oh and the Pink little bunny with a second pair of small ears named Kyupi, so cute!

Before I started to watch this series, I thought it would be stupid for a 13-year-old girl like me to watch such a child-ish show.
But when I watched the first episode it got soo intresting that I managed to finish the series somehow~
It got seriously addicting and I couldn't stop watching it!
The characters are cute and the plot is very intresting!
So if you like to solve things I recommend you to watch this show!
There might be just 39 epsidoes but the plot is very very very intresting!

A Delightful Adventure!

First off, if you're looking for something more than a children's anime, then you should look somewhere else. Fairy Musketeers is a children's anime all the way to the end, using elements and a storyline that typically would not be appealing to those who strive for something more mature. However, if you're looking for a children's anime, like children's anime, or do not mind children's anime, this series is well worth a try. This series could be described as a major fairy tale crossover, combined with mahou shoujo (magical girl) and RPG elements, with a tiny bit of Digimon thrown into the mix.

The storyline is simple. A seemingly normal, young boy with a special item inside of him travels to a magic world with the Three Musketeers (Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, and Briar Rose) and his childhood friend in attempt to finish the fairy tale his mother used to tell him as a child while being hunted by an evil witch named Cendrillion. The storyline isn't strikingly unique and you can surely find hundreds (if not thousands) of stories with the same plot. However, breaking down the individual episodes and examining them one-by-one, there are few interesting elements. Fairy Musketeers does a fantastic job taking familiar fairy tale stories and tweaking them to fit the storyline of the anime. Some of the fairy tale stories were tweaked for character back stories that retained a good portion of their original elements (such as Hansel & Gretel and the Gingerbread House), while some of the fairy tale stories were combined together within the main storyline (meaning that two different fairy tales were combined into one; I would give you an example, but it would be a spoiler).

The music is fantastic, in my personal opinion. It sounds similar to other children's anime soundtracks I've listened to, but the quality and the impact of the music does not deteriorate because of the similarities. Each track is scored perfectly for the series, giving emotion and impact to all the battle scenes, the silly verbal fights often between Snow White and Ringo, the pep talks that all the characters give each other at one point, the music that played in Cendrillion's castle and whenever she makes an appearance, the extremely silly "Bremen" track (which I absolutely adore - it's fun and catchy), and more. It's definitely music that could help bring you, the viewer, into their world.

The characters are great and overall well designed (even though the Three Musketeers' designs strike me as a bit odd, but I'm typically thinking Disney when I think of the character's names). While I'm not going to list all the character designs and what not here, I would like to point out a few interesting points. Snow White is a very conceded princess in this anime, always talking about how beautiful she is and how she's the best at magic out of the Three Musketeers. As annoying as she is like this, it's a nice, unexpected change - I'm sure a lot of us are attached to Disney interpretation of her. Briar Rose (better known as Sleeping Beauty) lives up to her typical title people worldwide know her as, as she tends to fall asleep a lot. Interestingly enough, if she's woken up before she's ready, she's extremely moody (of course, most people are when that happens), while when she wakes up on her own, she's a sweet heart. She also has great observation skills and picks up on a lot of things before the rest of the group. And the last person I'm going to mention is Gretel. She's very, very attached to her brother, Hansel, for she feels that there's no one else who cares for them except each other, so she would do literally anything for him. She seems to cling to him a lot. If you want to know about the other characters, just take a look at the anime itself. They range from kind hearted, quiet souls to tsundere types.

The animation was much better than I expected for a children's show. A lot of children shows I watch seem to often go off model quite a bit, but I've noticed this problem only once or twice throughout this 39 episode long series. The animation flows smoothly and the battle scenes are fun to watch, especially since they move and the characters don't fall off model.

Overall, I highly recommend this series. It had me at the edge of my seat (literally) at certain points, often made me freak out over decisions made or ones that weren't made, and a few episodes actually moved me to tears. The music is fun, catchy, and goes very well, the animation is smooth, the characters are fantastic, and the storyline, while not over-the-top amazing, is still kept interesting with the stories and the characters intertwined with it. So if you like or don't mind childish anime, I say try this series, especially if you're a fan of magical girls and RPGs. It's a fun adventure and worth watching to the end.
