The storyline is a little hard to follow, but the characters and animation give it everything it needs to keep going. I am really diggin this mecha! I especially like episode 8 which tells us a little bit about the character Katana...I don't want to leave any spoilers, but so for that's my favorite.

its like this... the music is like a more upbeat jazz and the anime is very crisp so id say over all i really liked this anime. i really liked the plot and the unconventional way the whole mecha idea was put together plus the ending was a surprise so it made for some thing unexpected and if your a hardcore anime geek like myself you will really enjoy. i was a little upset though when hajiki rolls off to find katana and does not stay with the chick and i thought they had a good thing going too... sigh other then that i really liked it and i recommend it to all viewers as a must see!!

I had a chance to see the first preview of this series when it was broadcasts on G4 Tech TV in Calgary, AB during their subscriber drive in 2005 or 2006. This series was a great retro look back in anime during the postwar decades in 20th Century in Japan. Here, you don't operate inside your robot as a mobile suit or labor mecha. You have a remote control box or you use a voice command system to make your robot do some tasks. Now to the anime plot, a young boy named Hajiki Sanada and his family live in a city in a dystopia future where mankind has abuse Earth to the point that all the natural resources are now depleted. His departed father was an astronaut who tried to find alternatives of raw materials in outer space. Now the family must leave Day town(one of living zone of this unnamed city) to live in Night town. Now, he has a part-time job as a messenger courier for Hachisuka Express run by Mr. Hachisuka. On this particular night, he is asked to take a small parcel to a certain apartment address belonging to a Catherine Flobér. Instead of completely his job, he ends up opening the parcel to find a small metal box called a Gad. He touches it and the Gad turns itself into a huge humanoid robot or a Techode named Lightning and now the fun begins. The series is a bit even paced for action and drama as we see the characters starts fully flesh out as the story continues as Hajiki investigates the mysteries surround the Gad and his father and at same time, dealing with dangerous foes and questionable allies to make this series, a worthwhile look and see viewing.
