The story itself definitely takes some time to warm up itself, but in whole it's not an anime that should be missed because of a slow start. Overall the plot was complete with a healthy amount of focus in character development among the main cast. One thing to note about battle scenes is that there's considerable concentration on teamwork between the mechas, a feature not common in hero-style robo animes (at least not to the degree of Gaiking LOD)
Overall, definitely a recommendation for anyone who wants a good dose of robot action.
