    Don't Wait Until It's Cold
The Count of Monte Cristo, one of my favorite books next to Fyodor Dostoevsky's The Idiot or Crime and Punishment, is adapted yet again into something for the screen. I've watched the 1932 version directed by Rowland V. Lee, I've watched the 2002 version directed by Kevin Reynolds. This unique adaptation, taking extensive liberties as setting in the far future, and focusing on Albert instead of ...

    very unique, i love it!
the first thing i word comment about is the art style, very unique and original. Apparently this anime was adapted from the novel 'The Count of Monte Cristo' (btw which also has i think 2 film). The storyline of this anime was fantastic, though people commented that the pace was too fast (what do you expect they cant make it one episode per chapter) i think it was very well done. One of the main ...

Beautiful anime with elegance and intelligence.
This anime is a masterpiece. I have been though everything the count has. It was very personal and enlightening for me. It has so many lessons that I was not thought in life, and in a way it has completely changed my life.

    A feast for the senses
This is the best anime I have ever seen. I feel that Cowboy Bebop was the best anime of the last decade, it held the #1 spot on my list of all-time favorites for several years, but Gankutsuou has since toppled it for me by a landslide, even forcing the delights of Hayao Miyazaki's sparkling workshop down to the middle of my list. There is no precedent for Gankutsuou in anime when it comes to the ...

A Wonderful take on the Count of Monte Cristo
I loved this anime, it was a unique take on the classic tale. Be warned though, some people find the art style off putting, the textures are stationary as the environments and characters move across them. It makes for an interesting experience to say the least. Highly Recommend.

    You got to watch it!
The Count of Monte Cristo is an amazing anime. This first thing you get is the opening song which is a little weird but I think written expressly for this anime and it fits, though weird. Next is the outstanding animation. Totally different than every other anime and a little crazy at first but it grows on you. Now the story line is the keeper. I know the story is based off of a book and I ...

A mostly refreshing update on Dumas's timeless classic
**There are spoiler-ish items in the following text. You have been warned.**

Allow me to preface this by saying that Alexandre Dumas's novel The Count of Monte Cristo is one of my, if not my all-time, favorite works of fiction. I read the unabridged translation once a year. It, its rich assembly of characters, and the themes present throughout are truly timeless. It seems like every so ...

The Same Wine Poured Into a Different Bottle.
I was really into this book when I was younger, so when I watched this adaptation I was amazed and touched by how good it was. All the characters are perfect and personify the original characters' very essence. The media is different, and the setting is surrealistic, but the story of revenge and the unconquerable nature of the human spirit remains true to Duma's vision. That's why The Count of ...

To whom it may concern. eh-hem (My friends)
This anime is a favorite of mine, get it in 720p or more. To appreciate this, you'll need all the p you can get.
    Lol...
Anyways.. Great art if you can dig the style and of course the story is amazing. A+ on all that.
Sound is not all too great. Good soundtrack though (Aside from the awful open and end). As always, watch in original japanese.
Some gay stuff but I'm into it. Have fun.
