    To the person who said Hard Boiled is a term that comes from a Jackie Chan movie... that's not right at all. It's based on stories from the 1920's and was used like how we use hardcore today. Japan has a really long tradition of that stuff.

    The hard-boiled stuff in this episode basically means that the detective is(supposed to be) someone who has a tough attitude. Someone who has seen it all and isn't afraid to confront danger and is often engaged in violent situations.
