Gintama

At first I didn't really like this anime >>>>>> ALOT>>>>> But once I settled it and told to myself to give it another shot...I tried 2 times though and the third times was worked! I just...addicted to the characters. Firstly was of course Gintoki-san, then followed by Katsura and so on...I just realized by the time I finished the second season that I actually loving this anime and didn't forced myself to watch it until now. Before it was because the popularity of this anime on CR so...I wanted to at least....y'know get some detail about this series, and here I am sigh...addictive to Gintama series with all my heart...

This isn't really a review, there's plenty of great ones below. It's more of a personal experience thing. I'm a HUGE fan of Gintama, so much so that the very idea of living without it seems like an insane nightmare. I've actually begun to lose interest in anime, however this is one of the two series I will absolutely never lose interest in. One which I know is definitely worth my time in all aspects.

Why should I watch this?
At first I watched this because I like characters with white hair. Ok not really, that was only partially the reason. But I remember seeing these characters dressing in Bleach costumes somewhere, and I read that it was in the actual anime, not just a fan art. It was also based around samurai and Edo Japan, which I have a large interest in. I'd seen a clip on YouTube which wasn't funny to me, just weird, and I read the first couple of chapters in the manga. Wasn't interested. But it still appeared on the internet here and there, until finally I decided to start watching the anime instead. So I began episode 1 and continued watching throughout my summer holidays.
Now, I thought it was very funny, there's no denying that. But there was one major problem that stood in the way that prevented Gintama from completely taking my heart. That was, the lack of storyline. Yes, it was hilarious. Yes, it was the most interesting fun anime ever. But what was the point of it all? It was just showing the bizarre everyday lives of the characters, but they weren't really doing anything. Yes there is a main 'bad guy', but how often does he appear?
And you know what, it took me a good 100 episodes or so to realise why I wanted to keep watching it, and why I should keep watching it. You fall in love with the characters. You want to see them making fools of themselves. You want to laugh until you can't breathe anymore. You want to stare at the screen in complete confusion as to what is happening, but enjoy it anyway. You want the hear those philosophical words at the end of episodes and arcs. The anime is just so good that it doesn't even matter what happens in it anymore. The animators do an AMAZING job. The voice actors do an AMAZING job. Sorachi has done an AMAZING job.

So, in the end, it's best if you stop thinking and just watch it. Your world will change because of it, trust me ^o^

This is not a real review but a warning:
The first few episodes are terrible and make you wonder how anyone could ever enjoy this show Gintama. I loathed this show for the first few episodes but continued watching after reading someones review and their suggestion to watch at least 3 episodes.

I think at the 4th or 5th episode I really started to enjoy it and its gotten better every episode since then. Please give it a shot and erase the first few terrible episodes from your memory and enjoy the rest lol. It really is a great show, just terrible start ^_^

First off, I have to say that you NEED to watch this show! It is the funniest show that I've ever seen- foreign or American- and has the most original plot ideas and stories that I've watched in an anime. Each character is also unique in some way like in most anime. The main character, Sakata Gintoki (known as Gin-san or Gin-chan by Shinpachi and Kagura respectively, and Kintoki by Sakamoto) is the most sadistic and scummy character, and for a main character, that's pretty rare! I don't want to drone on now, but really, watch this show!

The anime closely follow their stories in the city of Edo who has been invaded by Amantos (aliens). What I love about this anime is that it has many well designed characters and the list keeps growing each season. Even though the series has more than 200 episodes, it is still refreshing and fun to watch. I highly recommend it!

This show is absolutely insane. The characters are all very unique and no matter how predictable the plots may be, the actions of the characters are far from predictable. The humor is off the walls. You'll have a hard time making it through this show without, at some point, finding yourself in a fit of hysterical laughter. However, the show has it's more serious moments as well. It can be very heartfelt and encouraging.

I have phases when it comes to anime. One moment I'm worshipping Allen Walker and the next I'm fantasising about Sinbad from Magi or Gray from Fairytail. BUTTTT when it comes to Gintama it becomes somewhat of a permanent thing. The characters and story just stick with you. They're kind of like the tattoo at the back of your butt you know? You can't see it most of the time but you always know it's there deep down in your heart.

Anyhow perhaps it won't make sense for some, the jokes are really...particular. Don't fret if you don't understand, because if you persevere through the anime then you will surely turn out a better person at the very end, albeit a little crooked. Maybe you will develop a deep understanding of madaos, perhaps you'll grow a fetish for hairy mascots in a duck suits,or maybe you will begin an obsession with mayonnaise. I know there are also a lot of girls who end up becoming yaoi hungry fangirls. This is good character building right? See? Gintama even helps your personality evolve!

There are tones of advantages in using this fully certified product of approval. I'm not endorsing it or anything I just support it's morales, the clear distinction in character and of course it's ability to crack you up in the most difficult of times. Please, if you have a bellybutton, WATCH THIS ANIME - or risk the said bellybutton closing in on itself.
