The Golden Manga Finally gets an Anime
I'm a big fan of the manga series right now. Like, A BIG FAN. This is a quality historic, action seinen that is educational, intense, hilarious, and tragic. Each character is enjoyable, but not everybody is a good person, including our main protagonist, Sugimoto the Immortal. And the art....is too good.
The minute I saw that notification about the anime, I was like, "GET HYPE! THE ANIME IS ...

    A Golden First Episode
I've never been this sure an anime is must-watch after a single episode.

A HUGE amount of information was given in the first episode, but it was never rushed. We got not only backstory, but the outline of the whole self-contained story arc. All this info was effortlessly given while introducing unforgettable characters and the guiding metaphor of the Wenkamuy in a few strong action ...

Woah baby this might be good
So if you've read any of my other reviews you'll know that I'm not that impressed by animes that seem generic and don't stand out. Honestly, who likes watching that stuff all the time? Well have no fears...Golden Kamuy is here for you!

The story is pretty simple and seems like it will progress in an easy to follow manner. A Japanese soldier is told of a way to find a treasure beyond his ...

    Best Series This Season
I'm caught up in the manga, and so far the anime hasn't let me down! Its a fantastic series and has some really great characters. With the exception of the CGI bears, the animation is perfect. The first episode and first 2 chapters don't dive into the humor the series has to offer later on, but this is definitely a series to watch.

Loving it so far (having seen the first episode)
Only saw the first episode so far, but this one shows a lot of promise. I'm excited to see where it goes!

A Guide to Ainu Traditional Cooking & Skinning People for Treasure Maps
About a century ago, the Japanese government finished colonising Hokkaido and declared the Ainu officially extinct. It was only fairly recently that people with Ainu ancestry started to reclaim their language and heritage so it's great to see an anime like this.

And this anime is actually good, so far. So good I watched it twice. It's straightforward with a simple plot of revenge and money, ...

    An interesting adventure begins
The drawing has it's own feel, and is pretty good. Animation is solid. Significant violence. A former soldier known for his tenacity joins forces with an Ainu girl, in what will be a bloody race to find a treasure.

The feel is pretty good. The dialogue is good, and nothing feels cliched. It's always a pleasure to step into something that feels new.
Really the only downside in episode 1 was the ...

It's 12 episodes. Just watch it.Too good to miss.
I don't ever review shows, but I feel like this one hasn't gotten a fair shake. Good action, art, and interesting story line. I actually don't hate any of the characters either. Low on fan service. And will make some pretty immature jokes and facial expressions, then have someone get their face ripped off 10 seconds later. Definitely happy I gave this one a chance.

will be lauded as a great classic one day
This is on par with great westerns and chanbara films. really really good. likeable characters that you want to root for. no whiny nonsense. the plot is moved along by being intrinsincly good and not by people doing stupd shit (i.e. no idiot plot). great historical setting. only problem is Hijikata doesn't eat mayonaise...

Awesome! Great Historical Anime of 2018!
This anime focus point is about looking for a treasure hided from the Ainu people during the Meiji era when they wanted to fight back colonization from Japan. Meanwhile, it is a great anime to watch and learn little more about the Ainu culture and society. This is the reason I totally recommended to anyone to give it a change to watch it.

    History
    Ainu (Indigenous nations)
