Gosick

I think Gosick was a very good anime because of it's characters, the mysteries, and the drama. But that is not what it was about. It is about the love between Kazuya Kujo and Victorique. All the mysteries they solved were leading up to this event. I think the story of Monstre Charamant was really about there lives and the people they were going to meet. Also about there love. It was really a story from the beginning. They were destined to meet. That is why I believe this show was the best thing that ever came to Crunchyroll. So even though this is the end, this show will forever be in my heart. Thank you

From The first half of this year this has been one of the best thrill rides Bones has offered. For story to art everything is well made. From the beginning investigations in the series to the beautiful ending that shows that it doesnt matter how far are one heart is from the other thier bonds cant be broken, not even by time or war. Yes i put a bit of romanticism. But aren't i right? Doesn't love beat all currents?

In the end it proved that no super powers are needed to show a remarkable shonen story.

I'm a HUGE fan of this series and I love it the most out of all the anime I've watched... It's got a great setting, I love the story, and in some places it creeps me out, and in some parts it makes me want to murder somebody, but if you watch it you'd see why. This anime in my eyes put all others to shame(But that's just me.) This is a must watch for all and I do approve of this message 100%! The real thing that kept me in love with this anime though would defiantly be the bond within it. And also the fact that at the end it made me wonder what's going to happen next? I want more.... And I want it now... (More of a need.)

You know that feeling you get when you're just happy to be alive? That's the feeling the author of this series is trying to get across and the impression that's left on me after having finished it. Throughout the entire story, I was never bored but not particularly surprised either. Each character made great impressions on me and I enjoyed them all.

That's not to say that Gosick is without faults. Let me lay this out.
Music – This is the worst area for Gosick. The lackluster opening and ending songs were ok at best and downright sappy at worst. The soundtrack throughout the rest of the series was, however, right where it should have been: in the background. It wasn't bad or anything of the sort. It fit the mood just fine and didn't stick out in any way.

Characters – This is a relatively strong area but still weaker than others. Kujo, our main hero, is a bit of a loser-kun when he first appears. As a loser-kun, he is destined for abuse from everybody he meets and is destined to be a doormat for about half of the series. However, unlike other loser-kuns, Kujo grows out of it. Victorique is really a snob. I suppose she technically fits the archetype of Tsundere but ultimately is too weak physically to pull it off well. This ends up meaning Kujo has to be the manly man in spite of his loser-kun status. However, much like Kujo, Victorique ends up growing out of her tsundere status as well. Everybody else fits well around the relationship between these two and each plays their own, supporting role very well.

Animation – Here's an area where this anime shines. This series is drawn very well. I'd suggest that the attention to detail is above and beyond what is normal in any anime series. The stylistic choices seemed spot on for the setting as well as the character tastes within that setting. The very last episode is a fantastic example of this with Victorique sporting late 20's-style Japanese clothing. In the opinion of this author, there weren't any artfully distasteful choices at any point in the series. The animators and directors demonstrated real class throughout the series.

Story – This was not really a mystery. For those of you looking for a straight-up, old-school mystery you should give up. The mysteries in this were mildly obscured at best. So then, why do I rate this story so highly if I am saying this? The story is an amazing experience. It isn't about the mystery at all. Rather, it's about this odd couple and the environment around them. How does the world change so vastly and work so heard to tear them apart? There were times where I thought one of them was going to die. The story took some rather dark turns at times and that left you wondering what was going to happen.

Overall, this series, because of its incredible story, endearing characters, and it's full environment; because it reaches out to you and pulls you in so effectively and keeps you there and, sometimes, at the edge of your seat, I am giving this series a 9.5 out of 10. Gosick, you're a treasure.

GOSICK is not the most original story around, but it is certainly entertaining. I really did enjoy most of the series, but honestly the mystery plots were not all that interesting to me. The mysteries had rather ridiculous solutions and explanations that it felt like watching an anime version of Psych or something. Frankly the story line was neither terrible nor good, although at first I was drawn to the series because I thought a mystery anime sounded interesting. What kept me watching GOSICK was not the mysteries whatsoever but the characters and their relationships. Victorique reminds me very much of Shinku from Rozen Maiden, a strong short beautiful blonde haired girls dressed in gothic lolita clothing who has a very tender girly side that is sensitive and vulnerable. I felt her she was the glue of the series and not just because of her vast intelligence, but rather it is her developing character and feelings toward Kujo that makes her great. Kujo, the main male protagonist, was sorta a typical anime guy who is not very smart, very foolish, and is a sidekick to the main character since he himself seemingly cannot do anything without her. Despite all that I said, his relationship to Victorique is the key of the whole series because without it, there you just be some anime version of Sherlock Holmes and that would have been boring as hell. When you think of mystery based plots, the idea of a detective and probably some sidekick pops into your head, but with GOSICK the deep friendship of Victorique and Kujo provides for a nice relationship plot throughout the series. Victorique although very intelligent and often cool headed is riddled with insecurities and despite Kujo's lack of originality, he is an important character in keeping Victorique human. That is probably what I really liked about the series, Victorique and Kujo's relationship seemed very human despite the overly dramatic and dangers they face that pretty much most people would never face. So the thing is with this series, you have to watch it with an open mind and look past the cheesy mystery plot because the real key is the friendship/developing romance of Victorique and Kujo. I only wrote this review because I wanted to express my feelings of enjoyment for this series (especially because most new animes I watched this year were a dissappointment but this one was not). So I highly recommend even though the plot is subpar, watch for the characters and their interactions, not the typical mystery drama. The final episode I found was very satisfying since there is a sort of a prophecy in the plot which will lead viewers to think something terrible will happen, but I do not want to spoil it for anyone who is willing to give this a anime a try. So have fun watching as I did!
P.S. Victorique will have some really adorable moe scenes.

Victorique has the appearance of a small, almost doll-like, girl with long blonde hair and emerald eyes. However, she possesses a voice and articulation in speaking that makes her sound like a matured woman. Despite being a student in Saint Marguerite Academy, she usually wears a black Victorian dress which is full of lace and frills; she also possesses a wardrobe consisting of dresses of varying colors.

I am more in action, magic, martial arts and horror but this show has gripped me, I love everything about it. Its so emotional, the storylines and inner storylines are so warm and mystical at the same time. The characters are so strong and inspiring. At first, Victorique seemed rude and harsh, but I kept watching and I understood so much more. At the end lately, I have been holding back tears waiting for the next ep. Not because its sad, because its so good and I almost connect with the characters every time in only 23min. Best writers ever. Music is epic! animation is so cute, colorful and makes me want to visit this creepy imaginary country. Also, I love how the mysteries are all connected..
