Series Delayed to 4/17. Enjoy these first 2 .
Another fantasy series,(Love em to death).
The series has potential to be really good. The animation is really great. Colors are wonderful. Risk of it turning generic really quick if they don't handle it right, but either way I'm still looking forward to the series when it finally airs

1st impression ~ not game player
Honestly, I've tried to watch animes that were based on games before but most of the time the plot was way too confusing and you had to know the game in order to understand. This anime seems like a first where I can GET the plot! If that's the case then I'll be really pumped!

Also the fact that the voice actor for the little dragon is Rie Kugimiya, the same voice actor for fairy tail's happy ...

For fans of classic fantasy anime...
...and the video game I guess.

Granblue Fantasy is based of the mobile rpg of the same name, and incidentally the manga adaptation. It follows the classic fantasy-rpg setup of boy meets mystical girl and defends her from the kingdom that's hunting them. The plot is rather generic, but you're not here for the plot.

Let me just say, we haven't seen art and animation like this in years (maybe ...

A grand fantasy from the video game Granblue Fantasy, the series will be delayed until mid-April
This is a very well done high fantasy adventure with knights and dragons, and wizards; it is set in a realm of magic and steampunk. Apparently, humanity and the other races (we see elves [Harvin] in the intro to the next episode) live on "islands" floating in the air. The animation is excellent, and the characters are likable, though undeveloped thus far. The music is excellent, also. It is the ...

Three stars if you pretend the last two episodes don't exist
So I would recommend not watching the last two episodes, not because we tragically lose characters or anything. Just because they're freaking stupid.

Story/Setting - 4/5 - A perfectly fine story in a pretty cool setting. The world consists of a series of sky-islands each with its own unique geography and culture. Cool. The story is basically a sandbox adventure where we travel around ...

    Good Idea, Poor execution
There's a lot of promise here but the show doesn't deliver. It's a fantasy in the tradition of Record of the Lodess War in the sense that the main character starts out on an adventure while accumulating allies along the way. It starts off with promise. There is conflict, dragons and magic.

    That's the first episode.

I made it to the end of episode seven before I decided, enough is ...

    Interesting, but lacking
I've been keeping up with this anime despite the pretty flat looking art style.
I'll start off by saying what I like about GranBlue Fantasy.
1st: it reminds me of Final Fantasy, which I like.
    2nd: the animation is nice.
And now onto what annoys me about this anime:
1st: Flat looking art style. The cover looks way better than the anime.
2nd: The violence in this anime is like rated pg13. ...

A really good, new fantasy anime
We really enjoyed the characters and how fantasy-like it does feel from start to finish. The Main characters were enjoyable, especially the "flying lizard" voiced by the tsundere queen. First reaction was "happy"!. Definitely like where it is heading and can't wait to see the rest of the journey in future episodes.

Great Adaptation for fans and non-fans alike
Another video game adaptation into anime for this cycle. It seems we are getting a bunch for the coming year. So I gave this 4/5 because I feel that it has a lot of potential. Albeit if you are reading this I only watched 2 episodes and I played none of the Granblue games. So just know that this 4/5 is a coming from a complete blank slate.

    Pros:
-If you love Fantasy anime then I believe you ...

    CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE!
Love the story, we need more adventure based anime.
Animation is nostalgic, reminds me of the good old days of high fantasy anime films.
Any anime with dragons is always going to have that cool factor especially if they are utilized as weapons(Allies & Foes alike).
They are really hitting the mark with these video game to anime lately.
    Keep it up Japan.
