Skip this if you don't like one-dimensional characters
If you're the type of person who doesn't like to stop watching a series once you start it and you're on the fence about watching this, I advise you to not start this. Most of the characters are boring, including the lead male. Only a few of the characters can be considered to be two-dimensional, but even then, their second side is bland. The story is definitely not a positive for this ...

  • Bittersweet series (sad but worth watching)
Overall a good anime. Rated 4 stars instead of 5 due to the way the first half of the series was structured compared to the last half. This show will make you want to punch out an old man, a couple of kids (and their parents), laugh, and cry.

    Spoilers may be included below:

The first half of the series really felt out of context, even though it's a slice of life genre. We went straight from ...

    H2O: Footprints in the Sand
H2O: Footprints in the Sand is a very good show. however I was left with lots of question at the end of the last episode. I am not sure if it was a happy or sad ending. you must see, you will cry if you have a heart .......................................................!

  • One of the best tragic - romantic anime of all time.
This anime touched my heart the whole time. It definitely showed the power of love, and how strong it is. It definitely isn't a realistic story, but it can really teach you something. I kniw there were some times when we all hated the villagers because they hated on Hayami, but that just adds on to the feels. Definitely an anime to watch, and is definitely one of my favorites.

  • In Depth but Short Anime
I found the anime to start off a little slow and somewhat generic. It wasn't until a few episodes in that the story truly develops. As the series nears the end, a lot of quite advanced events happen. Far more compelling than I thought a 12 episode anime could be. I'm still not entirely sure this was a great anime, but it was definitely well thought out. Clannad is still more depressing than this ...

    Nice name...shame about the show
Currently, there are only 5 anime which are adapted from visual novels which I enjoy very much- the 3 Key-Kyoto Animation partnership anime (Air, Kanon 2006 and Clannad), Higurashi and Steins;Gate. Coming into this particular one, I knew it could never match up to those 5. I knew the journey through this would be as annoying as hell given just the synopsis. But I kept a clear head and entered. ...

  • Beautiful Ugly or Pretty Misery
Very difficult to watch at times. Yet a special take for those that enjoy the bittersweet tragedy genre. The ending hurts this work for me, but H2O has some very good merits. Yes, this is a very vague review.

  • What a truly well put anime!
This anime shows how a girl, a boy, and an entire village overcame the past and moved forward. It will piss you off, make you laugh, and cry. This anime is very well put together. Art is amazing, and I love the story. The last two episodes are one hell of an emotional twist. お疲れさまでした!

  • The Blind Shall See Out of Obscurity, And Out of Darkness
Sometimes touchingly poignant, others vulgar and monstrous, filled with joys that will let your spirit sing with laughter, and even bizarre enough moments to confuse even the most well-versed anime enthusiasts; this series is filled with mystery, intrigue, bittersweet tragedy, romance, love and laughter. All of this awaits those who take interest in the tale of H2O.

    When considering the ...
