If nothing else, I can vouch for the art
An exciting beginning, and beautiful art. Abe Miyuki is a truly talented mangaka, whose style is elaborate, slightly old fashion, and breathtaking, traits that I feared would be lost in this anime adaption, but seem to have been kept nicely. 5 years ago, Shino (main character), saved himself and Sosuke (blue-haired guy) from death, so they wouldn't leave Hameji (not pictured) alone, by allowing ...

Excellent! Looking forward to Season 2.
I watch and have watched a lot of anime of all kinds. I liked this one better than anything I've watched since FMA. Characters are all interesting with distinct and diverse personalities that follow logically. (The characters don't act against their personality type.) Art, of course, is wonderful (very important!), and the plot line is interesting and unique. I do like a bit of ...

    ITS AMAZINGLY AWESOME
When i saw the 1st episode I thought "How the HECK did Happy turn into a crow?WHATTTT?" It turned out, the same voice actor that voices Natsu from Fairy Tail also voices Shino! I was quite happy after that, seeing that I'm a Fairy Tail fan....
But the next big thing was.........HE HAS A EYE ON HIS HAND....ALMOST LIKE 07-GHOST!!! And of course, I'm a 07-Ghost fan as well....

    This anime seems a ...

    An anime you must watch!
The first episode caught my attention and I wanted to keep watching. The suspense and unusual yet unique plot brings a pack load of excitement. You feel like your in the show yourself wanting to find the answers like Shino, the main character. You'll see once you get into the series. It's not your common supernatural anime with just ghost and demons but something far more greater and exciting. ...

This is what Shojo is meant to be.
When I go back and look at the Anime I've loved. The Shojo titles I've seen and liked are few and far between. Hakkenden is actually serialized in Asuka Ciel, which is a Shojo magazine. The beauty of Hakkenden, is that it's not overt Shojo, and really transcends the Genre. It's got enough action, plot, development, and good character design for fans that don't even like Shojo to enjoy.
    The ...

    Totally worth your time
While at the beginning it might be a bit confusing, it eventually all comes together, each episode more or less has its own sub-plot, while the overarching story is still there, which I personally like alot. Initially I did get frustrated trying to follow all the character's with alot of similar names, but the story and emotional impact makes up for any trivial issues and it's open ending.

The best I've watched in years!
When I first stumbled upon this anime I was expecting just a anime filled with a boring plot. On the other hand what I really found was a package that was amazing. I loved all the characters and the plot of the anime in all. (especially the shounen-ai moments (=w=)b ) I love animes like this where they focus on a strong bond between two friends instead making it sickingly sweet with strong emotion ...

    Kept me coming back...
Great art, some great eye candy, a little bit of underline BL and even some underline man/woman romance, battles, and paranormal/fantasy with the right seasoning of comedy. All of which I personally find are great bases of any anime. This anime starts out light hearted, with a good character development and for the most part a good steady flow and build up of the story-line.
    The ending though ...

Season 1 was boring, but Season 2 made up for it
Season 1 was boring and not exciting at all, however Season 2 made up for it nicely.

There's probably going to be season 3 from the look of things at the end of Season 2.

This anime (specifically season 2) is great in the sense that it incorporates many myths and legends into a modern twist kind of story. It focused on many mythological beings and Japanese folktales; stories like a child ...

Season 2 Is Gonna Be Amazing ^_^
I really have to say that Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East really exceeded my expectations. I was thinking that the first episodes were a little poor with the lack of information they gave us but they later on informed us through the show. I'm really hope the season 2 comes out quick because Ima die if I have to wait any longer. Overall though this anime really proved me wrong and in the end it ...
