Supernatural action pretty-boys (first 6 episodes)
This show has grabbed my attention, despite the reverse-harem/bishounen aspects of it. The pieces don't quite all fit together or move in the same direction yet, but there's a good core to build on for the rest of the season.

The idea of humans tied to supernatural beasts is an element of various cultures' mythology. Hakkenden takes this concept and throws it into a steampunk-ish but ...

    Must Watch This Season!
I watch most anime every season and I must say that this season, it is one of the good ones! No fan service, good graphics, good plot, for everyone and it's funny but also have it's sad moments. I think that if you want something bs-free then this is the anime to watch!

    Beautiful, intriguing, a must see.
Love the unique concept, beautiful animation and intriguing characters. Such impressive animation drew me in from the first episode. You won't be disappointed in this interesting story. Had to watch it twice it was so beautiful.

A little early for a review actually
But this is probably when folks on the fence actually need one eh? :)

First this is nicely drawn. Nobody is going to run away from the artwork.
For me though an anime is all about the story, especially subtitled anime. I'm really enjoying this story thus far, This is one of those "dark mystery in their past" animes and they are doing a nice job of teasing out those details while keeping the ...

    Less than I expected
After all the glowing reviews here, I thought this would be a good show to get into. While the animation is quite good, I was really disappointed in the story itself. Two entire seasons, and it barely moves at all. It was mostly just a character introduction, and virtually no questions were answered. If a third season comes out, I might pick it up again when I get bored, but it is by no means an ...

    Iffy plot, but still enjoyable
Sadly I cannot give Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East 5 stars.
The art and animation is outstanding. The characters are also very likable. This is one of the reasons I kept watching.
The plot was lacking severely and this really hurt the show. Let's say we sliced a plot pie into eight pieces. We got maybe--maybe--half of the pie and the rest was thrown away to leave us wondering ...

    EPIC!! nothing more to say
This title anime is beyond what most reviews have said of it..Beautiful art, great storyline and humor. This might not be the longest review but the most heartfelt defiantly. If your looking for a story that embodys the strangeness and wonder of Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away then you have found your series. I cannot tell you how surprised I was at the plot twists, the wonderful way the Japanese ...

I was fooled by the picture
I wont lie that the story line was decent, which made me watch the 2nd season, but this anime was quite dissapointing overall. For an anime with soo much blood, there seems to be no fighting what so ever. If your looking for an action sword fighting Rurouni kenshin/ akame ga kill type of anime look elsewhere.

So basically there are humans transforming demons, and a main character with a cursed ...

    Interesting Story - Recommended
Interesting story - at times slow but overall would recommend watching. The characters and relationships between them are mostly developed, at times too developed. Mostly visually pleasing but felt somewhat rushed at the end by trying to jam the final battle which was a slight let-down.
