I started watching this thinking it would be another Harukanaru toki no naka de, with a whiny willful heroine surrounded by men who just encourage it. Instead, I got the most business-savvy, aggressive, intelligent 14 year old girl I've ever seen. I fell in love. This isn't some huge romantic mess. Kajika is smart enough to know her age and is just intrigued enough to play the game that her father set up, seeing where it will take her. She's definitely one of those heroines who believes the best from everyone, but that's what lets her succeed in reaching out to them and establishing ties of a political, business, and social nature. She is forging friendships based upon family, trust and caring that will last through adulthood. And they're friendships that she'll need as she and all of them become embroiled in the politics of a Middle Eastern kingdom that they try to save from civil war.
Romance is certainly part of this, since one of the men obviously loves her beyond all else in his life, and I'm betting he's the one who wins her heart in the end. But for now, the series is focusing on her traveling and getting to know the people involved, and helping them through whatever problems they find themselves in (whether they want it or not LOL). One thing's for sure, they'll never forget Kajika, and neither will I.
People who like Saiunkoku Monogatari should give this one a shot.
Edited: I'm adding two things to this review. One is that while I like the OP and ED themes a lot, I really have come to hate the monotonous background music, so I've dropped the music score.
Second, a word about how to watch this. The first 4 eps are mostly boring shoujo, though they serve to introduce some of the characters, including Kajika and Li Ren. The main plot gets its start in ep5 where you start to meet the Middle Eastern characters. Eps 6-12, especially 10-11, are vital to understanding the whole story and they're not up on CrunchyRoll yet. I'd recommend watching the fansubs before you jump into the later episodes or the new ones will make no sense.

This is, by far, one of my most favorite anime. To begin with, the animation itself is very well done. It is not too simple yet it does not have anything unnecessary added in the scenes. The music is also incredibly fitting and is probably the best soundtrack that I have ever come across. However, it is the storyline and the characters that are what make this anime so amazing. The characters are very likable and have engaging and deep personalities, especially when it comes to the Kajika, the main heroine of the show. I find it somewhat rare to have a strong personality like hers in a romance show. She is definitely very alluring and it is very easy to attach to her. The other characters involved in the show also have a good depth to them, which is not something that could often be said about other shows, especially when it comes to characters that might not play a very important role. The storyline, too, although somewhat predictable (for example, it was very easy to know early on who Kajika will end up with), is still very engaging and compelling. There is nothing unnecessary in the story that was added just to fill up space. Everything comes together very nicely. The ending to the anime was also very well done, although after the journey that you take with the characters through this show, it really leaves you wanting to know what will happen years from where the story ends. But, I guess just as it holds true for many shows, it is left up to the viewers imagination. I wouldn't complain if my imagination gets a little bit messed around with if they decide to release a continuation of this series (which is very unlikely) =)

The one thing i hate the most when I'm watching a anime or drama is if the girl is totally spineless and lets people walk all over her and when i started to watch it i thought that Kaijika was going to be lame indecisive weakling but I'm glad to say that she wasn't.
The three things that I really love about Hanasakeru Seishonen is that......
1. She actually picks a guy in the end(wont tell you who) which i really loved because the harem and reverse harem shows ive watched in the end the main character doesn't pick anyone which is totally lame in my book.
2. The plot is really interesting,I thought it was going to be a typical rich girl dealing with random issues but as i watching my facing was like this :0 countless times. There were so many unexpected plot twists that really made the show interesting
3. The intro song!!!! is awesome! For a while it was my ring tone

I'm not going to write much here since it's about the ending and I don't want to spoil the show for anyone (It was actually pretty good :3)
** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**
But I felt that I kind of wasted my time watching her choose she wants to marry, because in the end it goes right back to square one with the person her father arranged her to marry =__=
Overall, pretty good

It was fun to watch, actually.

(0_0) I adore a good story with fast pace, interesting characters. Very in keeping with today's social, economic and political scenarios. You'll definitely want to take some names, kick some "compost" and malign a few person's parentage.
Overall, characters believable, music very good, animation not completely realistic but great looking. Wish the leopard had hung around a little longer - but conflict has to start somewhere.
If you're heavy into boing-boing, bounce-bounce and panty flashes all over the place - do not watch this. If you want story, plot, love and a harem that's a keeper (for any woman wired for men only) - DON'T MISS IT!

I originally found this anime while scouring for a good anime that was not a run of the mill heroine with the oh so difficult choice of trying to get with a guy but is trapped by misadventures and obnoxious whiny phrases to portray their displeasure. (Note sarcasm). This was a pleasant surprise for me. Yes there is a shojo romance where she has to pick a cute guy to live happily ever after; however the plotline is far more down to earth. Kajika is not the normal ditzy, clumsy but super powerful, super lucky idiot heroine; even though she is young she has a good head on her shoulders and while she has odd quirks that she picked up from the environment of her younger years, she is mature for her age. I have read many comments that make her seem like she is turning into another ditzy idiot girl; but in my opinion, compared to other 14 year old heroines in other animes, Kajika shows that she is gracefully growing into a respectable young woman.
Other than Kajika's personality, the plot is not horribly cliched. The political tension from Raginei creates a good suspense for the audience. Rather than the overly cliched baddies that the heroine must fight to save the day, the enemies are very human and just as vulnerable. It's a very human interaction between countries, and the royal family of Raginei is not just a royal family they are a family. I seem to say human a lot but it's true. Unlike many royals that we view as superhumans set on a pedestal in the heavens or what not, the two crown princes are just brothers faced with horrible decisions just because of a family tragedy. I look forward to watching the rest of the anime.

When you start watching this anime you think the whole things going to be about love but really it ends up being about something completely different. This anime is so different than any other anime I've EVER seen, in most anime when the main characters a girl she's clueless and stupid but in this one she's powerful, strong and brave and the BOYS!!! <3 you'll love them all! usually in animes theres like one or two boys that you really notice and every one likes but in this one its like teams like i want so and so to end up with Kajika but really in the end you'll end up loving all the boys. as you watch this anime you'll feel as though you too are falling in love. I would recommend this anime to anyone. So if you like a good anime filled with love, mystery, action, and twists.... WATCH HANASAKERU SEISHONEN!!!! you wont regret it!

I think this is the second review i've ever written because i only do it if its worth my time meaning the anime has to be really good for me to write a review on it.
First of all, i was really skeptical about this anime! I've tried watching Harem anime's that involves one girl and many guys but i mean i could never finish it because the girl always annoyed me and it was ridiculous how the men always fall for her at first sight or after one meeting -.-
This anime really proved me wrong about how all harem's are the same! it's simply genius how the creator was able to mix business, action, romance and twists around! That's one creative and interesting imagination!
I really love the main character Kajika. Not only is she strong but she's smart and she knows how to handle situations herself without the help of others around her! In other words, she's not one of those "help me, im fragile" girls but more so the "i can do it on my own" type. I also love how she doesn't flirt or act like a total bimbo around the hot guys like many other characters in anime. Basically, She's not shallow.
I loved how the guys didn't fall for her because of her beauty and how it didn't happen in a one second moment. They actually slowly begin to like her after discovering just how amazing she truly is. That's the second thing. I love how she doesn't just pick the hottest guy and settle with him but actually takes the time to get to know all of them and become good friends before falling in love. It's truly an amazing anime and i can honestly say it's the first time (and i've watched A LOT of anime) that i've come across a girl like this. The ending is genius because there are no words left unsaid and no cliff hangers or unresolved situations. Everything is resolved, situations are finished/done and everything is well planned.
The story sounds kinda lame but hey "don't judge a book by it's cover!" Truly an amazing anime and you definitely won't regret it.

The first episode had me unsure if I wanted to watch this series or not. After the appearence of one character and the strenght of another , I got really curious and decided to watch it all.
Most typical Romance series don't last long..this one has almost 40 episodes wich is quite suprising. At some points it did get a little bit too much explanations thus my 3 1/2 stars for Storyline, but it's well worth it.
The main character Kajika is not your normal 14-15 year old and her character is quite different from other ladies in other romance series.
I'd sudgest this Series if you are a big fan of romance. Theres not much comedy but so much love and emotions it was wonderful.

The storyline dragged me in to watch this anime, I was eager to eager to see what the young girl would do and who she would choose, and I loved the fact that there were so many episodes. I would recommend this anime to anyone looking for a love story but overall its not something everybody would love :D, but i loved it , so check it out and see if you like it.
