    Growing Up Can Be Hard
With the series nearly over I feel like it's time to review one of the better slice of life anime series for 2011 thus far. Hanasaku Iroha is a sweet done to earth, coming of age series, being animated from the small company P.A Works. This series is being done for P.A.'s year anniversary of being in the industry, although they are not big player in series like J.C.Staff or Studio Deen they mainly ...

Best openings in any anime... ever!
So, I'm just going to start this review by stating why I gave this anime 5 stars: the opening songs are amazing! At first I thought "Hana no Iro" was kind of annoying, but by the end of the show it turned out to be the best opening song ever! Really gets you into the mood of the anime!

Oh yeah, and the actual show is pretty decent too...

    Beautiful and Inspirational
This work was absolutely stunning. In my society, no one wants to work, and it really has inspired me and help me realize a lot about myself as well. The character development is impeccable, and I felt like I grew along with them. I will always keep this anime close to my heart.

  • Brillant Slice of Life Story with Hardships and Drama!
Hanasaku Iroha is a beautiful story about a girl and her coming-to-age life story with many aspects of drama, romance, passion, dreams, and genuine humour. Ohana has declared to be one of my most favourite fictional characters there are in literature. She stands out when compared to many people, especially when compared to the real world because it is extremely rare to encounter a person with ...

  • Awesome slice of life anime
So much character development and emotions involved. The anime brings out a lot of nuances that are fundamental to the Japanese culture. Japanese folks would often take pride in the kind of jobs we often take for granted and seem inferior in comparison to western culture, and these thoughts, the pride, the emotions and the dreams that goes with it are properly communicated and conveyed throughout ...

  • Bonboru! One of the best Slice of Life anime out there.
I was pretty skeptical of this anime during the first few episodes, (mostly because of the mean characters :c) but after the 10th episode, i was hooked. The animation is crisp, the characters are dynamic, and the main protagonist has a good amount of character development (honestly the best female lead ever). WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE? Also, the openings are so CATCHY. This anime is just so darn ...

  • Usuniki's Review: "Beautiful story and recommend it to watch it!"
    My personal Rating: 9.9/10

It's been a long time since I've seen a Slice of Life done well. Is one of the calmest animes I have ever seen. There's something about the series that is just very relaxing, in a good way.

Now going back to the bit about Hanasaku Iroha being 26 episodes. The 26 episodes really did justice to each of the characters. Each character's strengths, weaknesses, and ...

Expect Happy Tears. Fest it up!
Starts out with some of the most unique character designs I've seen without going crazy and steadily builds upon the individual characters until you can't help but love every one of them. A touching series that avoids all the cliche we've come to expect of anime. It will make you cry again and again!

  • Come for the fun, stay for the friends.
Of all the shows I have watched, some have good characters, some have bad. But no show has made me feel like I knew so many of the characters as friends like Hanasaku Iroha. Make no mistake: this show has great art, great music (Hana no Iro, the opening is ridiculously catchy!), and a really great story. That's all well and good, but it's the superbly developed characters that raise this show up ...
