  • Sweet, fun and funny
Without a doubt, my favourite line from this series is "Drop your cocks and grab your socks" courtesy of the head waitress, Tomoe of Kissuisō.
This show was a bit hard to swallow at first, mostly no doubt due to my western sensibilities. But it quickly grows on you. The animation is lovely, the characters are interesting, and the plot is solid. the development of our heroine is tempered by a ...

  • Cute and true to the slice of life genre.
So I started watching this quite a while ago and just got done watching it. It takes a while to get into because it's kinda slow paced to me, hence the 3 stars. That doesn't mean it's not good, of course, it was good. They stayed true to their title of slice of life so it's worth giving a shot if you like that kinda thing.

  • I Love This Anime Series!!
The work into the characters are smart and simple, the feels are ok, but the story line is amazing and I just laugh at almost every episode I watch (not spoiling). I would definitely recommend this anime series to anyone who loves a piece of life and a little bit of action. To be honest, I'v watched each episode from start to finish and I would re-watch it again when I could have the chance. If ...

  • A very sweet anime!!
The story was pretty simple. I honestly stopped at around episode 10 on my first time watching it, finished it on my next time. I wasn't bad, nor boring, it just didn't really catch my interest. But overall it's a sweet and lovely anime with interesting characters.

  • Refreshingly beautiful
Hanasaku Iroha is a great anime, nice story line, great set of characters, good story development, beautiful scenery, high standard of animation, excellent opening and closing credits. I had stumbled upon the PV one day and decided to give it a shot and was blown away. The interactions between the different characters, the ensemble story line, the right amount of emotions and situations in every ...

  • Pretty Good Anime...
Ohana ends up going to live at her granny's hot springs inn because her mother isn't a very responsible parent. The story revolves around her life there and of course her growing relationship with her grandma and fellow workers which is a bit contentious at first but as time goes on they become friends and learn to work with each other and their is a romantic angle to the series but its not over ...

  • Slice-of-Life Done Right
While Hanasaku Iroha falls victims to some cliches and tropes you find in anime, it's very easy to look past these due to the strong writing, character development and characters. I wish I could remove just half a star - I don't feel right giving it 5/5 as it's not PERFECT but 4/5 also seems too low.

This series is all about the characters and they have a diverse, and complex selection. A good ...

  • This is a *must* watch!
This is such a fun coming of age story! Very well written and I love the characters!

The amount of drama and comedy, and seriousness, are all well balanced throughout the entire series. The artwork is very beautiful.

This is a great story for the entire family and one that should in your personal collection!

  • Yorokobe! Excellent coming of age show.
We all have enjoyed a lot of coming of age/age progression literature or entertainment (Harry Potter by JK Rowling, Early Autumn by Louis Bromfield...etc), and this is one show, in my opinion, that gives me equal satisfaction when reading a mainstream favorite or a Pulitzer Prize winner. There's nothing complicated about the plot of the show, as it is simply a 16 year-old girl, abandoned by her ...
