  • Felt like watching a drama
The story progression of Hanasaku Iroha is well thought out and characters and their background are illustrated so well with so much details that it was like watching live action drama while retaining best part of anime. (not necessary in artistic sense, but overall perception of the show.)

If I am asked to recommend one show to someone new to anime, this certainly will be on the list.

  • Hanasaku Iroha smiles
I don't have anything flowery to say. These 26 episodes are worth your time. The protagonist fights adversity, helps others, and makes you smile over and over again. The art work is very nice. Five star material.

  • This is a favorite of mine!
This is wonderful growing up anime. Great quality and storyline. Made me remember the bittersweet feeling of being right where I wanted to be and then the ending that would never be the same. Makes me think of a quote along the lines of not crying because it ended, but to be happy that it happened.

    Awesome slice of life series!
I can't believe how long I let this awesome series set in my queue. It is a slice of life series with some romantic comedy elements. It is really nicely done with great scenery and a nice art style. The characters themself stood out with very different personalitys. The main character was very loud and out going, she could really "FEST" it up!

The sereis is a good length too, every episode ...

    This anime was quite enjoyable
This anime gave me the same feeling I get when I play diner dash. The story was good, the characters so-so but it was great visually. This anime could have been a lot better if the granny wasn't so cold, the guy that liked her wasn't such a wuz, if things would have ended up better for her throughout the anime, and if the ending had been better. A one time watch for sure but I'm glad to have seen ...

    Give This One a Look!
First off, this anime is beautiful. It was so aesthetically appealing..the characters, the scenery, and THE FOOD! Everything was gorgeous, plus the animation had such a natural and smooth flow. The story was easy to follow, and so fun! There was true character development and I definitely felt all of the feels during this adventure. It was just what I needed in a Slice of Life anime.

  • This is one of the few anime I can really give 5 stars
I don't think I've ever given anything 5 stars, and if I did, I was either drunk, or just in a really good mood. This was such a heart warming story about a girl, or several actually, finding their place in the world. Themes settle around friendship, enduring hardship, romance and good times. I really loved this series and can't wait for season 2 ^.^

    My Gateway Anime into Crunchyroll
Hanasaku Iroha is one of the best slice-of-life anime I've ever seen. The quality of the animation is top-notched. Music is very fitting. The pacing is solid. There's no one episode that I've felt is weak. Every one make me want to watch more.

Ohana fits the standard genki archetype who drives the story, but in a refreshingly original way. There are fanservice elements scattered here and there ...
