Hayate no Gotoku, The Overall View.

Hayate no Gotoku may seem like a substandard harem anime at first, but after some careful watching I found this anime to be quite amazing. The characters are very well done and are extremelly fun to watch, and some are just plain awesome (HINAGIKU). The story revolves around a 16 year old boy who ends up with a giant debt and has to repay it by working as a butler to a 13 year old girl named Nagi. Along the way he meets many other women who ether crave to be with him, or to humilliate him or put him in the worst possible situation and laugh it up. The show's animation is colorful and easy on the eyes, but it's to creepy how well Hayate looks in a maid outfit O_O. There are some strange references (Obi-Wan Squirrel, The Cruel Angel's Thesis, etc), and the policy is if it can happen, it will, and it will make you go crazy with laughter. Over all this show should be one of the shows that you should check out and it's the best show's on this site.

A must see! Chef d'oeuvre!

I found this anime I think 3 months ago, right after finishing Shugo Chara, and it looked pretty interesting so I took a look at it. It wasn't what I was expecting to be at first but when you get to 10-15 episodes you just can't stop watching!( I say 10-15 episodes, but some people will get the hang of it faster than others! But for me I think that 10 episodes and your good to go !

Storyline: It's basically a romance anime mixed with a lot of comedy, but it's not the usual anime you'll see everyday, it has a story of it's own and the development of it is pretty slow at the beginning as I said before but when it starts it gets so addictive! I'm giving the Storyline a 4.5/5.

Music: I know a lot of people don't like it, personally I LOVE IT! I'm not the type who usually likes that kind of music(I usually listen to metal and death metal). The music is pretty good in both seasons.
4.5/5.

Characters: OK, first off, with the number of female characters there is in Hayate No Gotoku if you don't like romance and shoujos, your at the wrong place! But characters don't look really complicated in the beginning but they get sorta complex as long as the story moves on.
** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**
4.5/5.

Animation: Pretty good in general BUT you can notice a big change from season 1 and 2 and that everyone sees it! I liked the animation from the 1st season better at first but you get use to it quickly. I know some people just stopped watching because of that so i'm giving it a 3.5/5.

In overall I give this MUST SEE ANIME a 4.5/5. Not the best one ever but it is definitely worth your time to watch!!!

The anime appears to be more of a gag anime than anything, a lot of jokes are concealed in the actual Japanese so that it is harder for English sub readers to understand. This anime is rather cute though. The protagonist, Hayate, is your super strong but clueless guy who amasses a dept and has to pay it off to the girl who loves him Nagi. Hayate encounters lots of strange situations that he has to overcome inorder to become the best butler. Really this anime has no plot line and is really random, but it is a good watch and the individual plot of each episodes are fairly well built. If I would have to say what genre this anime is, it would be a gag manga with highlights of romance (occasionally romance wins over whole episodes, resulting in that Aww factor we all like). All in all I really liked its anime, just for its upbeat persona. If you have some time to kill, this wouldn't be a bad way to spend it.

this anime is very funny overall, but it does have a lot and I mean a lot of references from other series ( anime, tv, etc). This is more of a parody than anything else. Although this anime is very funny, sometimes is hard to keep up with the storyline, since they have some nonsensical side stories. I will recommend it to anyone who is looking for something very funny and entertaining.

Outstanding! Awesome series!

This is by far, one of the most well rounded anime series I have ever seen! The storyline is hilarious, music is creative, animations are amazing, and of course the characters are without a doubt awesome.

Usually, most comedy/harem animes are easy to loose interest in part way through the series, but I guarantee you that this is not the case for Hayate no Gotoku. The basis of this storyline is always consistent in bringing something new to the viewer each episode without making it feel a lost of pace, this aspect of it already makes it worth watching.

One of my most favorite thing about this anime are the characters, they are so well created that it you could almost compare one of them to an actual friend or relative you know. All of them have very interesting pasts and a very creative way in dealing with problems that occur. Even the villains are made likable, giving a chuckle every now and then when they appear instead of the usual "team rocket (pokemon)" approach.

I really recommend Hayate no gotoku to every type of anime viewers out there. I'm usually into serious action type animes, but I found this very entertaining too!

This anime is really interesting. A boy becomes a butler is not something you see everyday. Especially with the circumstances he faces like robots and ghosts.

The second season is not a continuation in sorts it is more of a recap sort of season as it shows us stuff which take place before the final episode of Season 1. This makes it a little confusing seeing as we looking for new adventures from where they left of and we get these new adventures but it is a case of we looking back to what they never showed in first season.

This being said its not a let down at all. Season 1 is the fun season where its about having a laugh more then having a solid storyline while second season takes things more seriously and focuses more on the story with laughs in there still.

An Excellent anime and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an anime to check out

Hayate- The Fourth Wall Breaker

This anime is really funny and all I can really say is this: Prepare yourself for a ton of breaking the fourth wall.
For those who don't know what breaking the fourth wall means, it basicly means either the characters in the show are explaining what's happening in it to the audience, or they make references to other popular series (as such seen in episode 4, with a Metal Gear Solid reference).
Story:
The series begins with Hayate Ayasaki, an average teenager (except for the fact his body can withstand the impact of a car). After being fired from his job (due to his parents dropping by and telling his boss about his age and stealing his payment), he returns home to find a letter his parents left behind. The letter reveals his parents have ran away and left Hayate behind to pay for their gambling debts (those are some (NOT) nice parents!) of nearly 40 years of work. After running away from his parents so called 'friends,' Hayate meets Nagi Sanzenin, a thirteen-year-old girl and the daughter of a wealthy bloodline. Hayate tries to tell her he's going to kidnap her, but Nagi accidently misunderstands him by thinking he's in love with her and falls in love with Hayate. Nagi decides on paying for Hayate's debts in return for him working as a bulter at her mansion. And thus begin's the story of 'Hayate: The Combat Bulter'!

Hayate no Gotoku is one of the BEST animes EVER. While I haven't gotten to read the manga, I love the anime. It's really addictive, and onces you watch the series once, you can't help but watching it again and again and again. While I haven't gotten very far through the series, I still love this anime more than I've ever loved one. Hayate is the kind of guy who would risk his life for Nagi, his Miss. Nagi is a bit spoiled, but still a very good girl, and

^^; This review might fail a little, as this is my first review, and, like I said, I haven't gotten very far through the anime.
I hope this helps people who want to know if Hayate No Gotoku is the right anime for them~
And, yes. This is a bit of a spoiler.

Hayate no Gotoku - Awesome Anime

This is my favorite anime. Kinda sad it isn't continued anymore, but I still love it.
It's about a young sixteen year old boy -- Hayate Ayasaki.
He works as a butler for Nagi Sanzenin, a thirteen year old young lady who lives in quite the big mansion.

His parents dropped a 150-million yen debt on him and left him in the cold as a Christmas present.
Hayate works at Nagi's to pay it off.

This anime is fairly good - For me the series kinda started off as slow and boring to me, but eventually I grew to love it. I'm happy I gave it a second chance.

There's two seasons to the series.
If you're new to the series, I recommend watching the FIRST season first, despite me starting with the second. Even if you watch the second first, you'll catch on.

The Storyline is a rather interesting one, it seems that there are quite a few characters with bad pasts though.
The background music is amazing - I find it very well composed. The opening songs are great, too.
The characters have great designs, each one has its own characteristics and suits its persona.
Animation is awesome for an anime.

This is well worth your time, especially if you like romantic comedies, or slice of life, even action! <3

Sorry if it's a bad review, it's my first one. ^^;
