  • Typical wanna-be cool reverse harem show
Okay, I was trying to see this with an open mind, but the more I watched, the more frustrated I got. However, I managed to stick it out and watched both seasons, in the HOPES that Tamaki would finally emerge as the Tamayori princess. Little did I know, that wouldn't happen until the END of the series--in season 2! Ugh! The first round of episodes of the guys saying something at the end was okay, ...

Very, very blah in the world of fantasy/action reverse harems
I started out excited, because after watching the first 3 episodes, this show felt like it had a lot of potential. Then the same old crap just recycled throughout the rest of the episodes, and the lack of a personality in the main girl really got annoying. The plot itself has more holes than a fishnet stocking, although maybe season 2 will wrap that crap up. Probably not.

    *Spoiler*

  • Pretty, But The Writers Got Lazy
The characters in this show are pretty to look at, as one might expect in a Reverse Harem setting.
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of fight animation and choreography, but that's pretty much where my enjoyment ended.

The main character is mostly useless and wishy washy about her convictions.
The love story comes out of nowhere. At the beginning of the show, it seems like it's ...

Lovely art fails to compensate for bad writing
To put it simply as a list:

    The Good:
    *Gorgeous hand drawn artwork/animation.

    The Bad:
    *Mediocre computer generated imagery (CGI).
*Frustratingly slow pacing of the storyline.
    *Poor character development.
*Plot holes big enough for Galactus, devourer of worlds, to leap through.
    * Predictably forumulaic and cliched unoriginal ...

This is the slowest moving show ever.
I am reviewing this at episode 18.

    Are you a dude?

Did you Like the English Patient?

If you answered yes to both of these, keep watching.

    No/Yes? Keep Watching.

Yes/No : Do not watch this show.

    No/No: Probably not but maybe.

This show is like the English Patient. Which by the way I did not like. Because Im a dude. Because its too long and takes way to long to get to the ...

    Overall a SOLID viewing.
The series is like OTOME genre visual novels that I love. Character art and story are decent consider how old this show is now. Great show overall for its intended tailored demographic. Just like shonen are for boys and shoujo are for girls this not intended for everyone.

  • Great series worth watching
Good series to watch. Plot is slow but if you like fantasy with a bit of edge to it, it does not disappoint. Artwork is great.

The story makes you feel for the characters and what they have to go through in the story. It makes you wish there was another happy ending or alternative ending for each of them as the story progresses but then it isn't your story that you wrote (go write your own ...

  • A Wonderful Blend of Fantasy and Romance
See this review and more like it at http://www.ramblingsonreadings.com/anime-review-hiiro-no-kakera/.

I really enjoyed this show. The story is good, the characters are interesting, there’s magic involved, serious romance…all things I like. I was worried it was going to be a bit of a reverse harem (one girl with a group of male admirers where there is no serious romance with any ...

  • A wonderful anime in my opinion!
Personally, this is an anime that I love, though it's not in my top five. I think that the story picks up more around the second season. I really like the characters and I would recommend this to others so long as they are willing to stick with it until the story picks up.

  • It's Slow and Goes Nowhere.
    After Watching the Full Series:
Don't let the high average star rating fool you. I'm not sure what most people were watching, but this series takes 2 episodes worth of content and stretches it into a whole series. It's slow moving, has little to no character development, no background information, and plot holes and unanswered questions galore.

    Story - 2/10
    Animation - 5/10
