Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere

Humans attempt to travel and inhabit space...epic fail for unknown reasons...they have to return to earth. Unfortunately, the only inhabitable area in earth is japan...no surprise...and so to accommodate everyone, pocket dimensions are created(I'm pretty sure they mean the theoretical pocket dimensions which are small spaces that can hold many more things...think Dr. Who's Tardis...'Bigger on the inside') around japan. In order to return to space, people attempt to reenact known history based on the Holy Book Testament . In the 'Feudal Age', around 1413 TA, the nations of the pocket dimension invade japan and force out the inhabitants. Fast forward a few hundred years, 1648 TA and the refugees fly around on a ship called the Musashi(it was shown in the show, floaty thing that looked like a ship outta Final Fantasy) which is constantly watched by the Testament Union(old dudes who make the Holy Book).

Now, rumors of war start since the old dudes stop reporting what happens next in human history. Taking advantage of this moment, one kid, Tori Aoi wants to regain the lost homeland of Japan.

All information contained herein is my own interpretation based on internet searches and is not subject to perfect accuracy...but its better than a blank page and a cool, but SUPER CONFUSING first episode...

Red jelly thing is cool though....

After watching the first two episodes, i can really say that this will really kick off. I'm already wanting to see whats next. I've once again found another anime series that includes just about anything. its Sexy, Perverted comedy, action, gundam like explosions, magic and a whole ensemble of characters to like.

Story line: Features a future setting, pocket dimensions, and refugees on-board a city ship named Musashi, while the characters are part of the Aridust Academy as students. First meeting the teacher whom gives her class a task to attacker , if they can before showing up to the teachers vendetta against an arc demon, thus meeting all the characters and their abilities and later gives you a backdrop for history.Tori, the main character plays a foolish cheerful perverted guy with a sister that has a decently sized chest, finds himself attempting to ask a P01 out. the P01 is an emotionless bot that resembles somewhat of a girl named Horizon looked like, Tori feels he had missed the chance to say how he felt before she died 10 years ago. The story line however is a little hard to follow at first because there is so much... what i like to call "randomness"

Music: A good mix of music, encompassing traditional and more retro Japanese music, good quality.The singing was absolutely entrancing, and overall enhanced the episodes, felt like i was watching a 30min movie. the background music usually consisted of an upbeat techno for oncoming action, and was well tracked.

Characters, Integrated and work well together some character may look a little familiar to some other animes that i've noticed, however stayed more unique to the story. energetic, emotional,and comical

Animation: This is By far one of the best animated series ive seen so far, it has anime movie quality throughout, somewhat as if you were watching one of the Pokemon movies complexing that 3D feel to it. Animation is really important, I would give the action shots a 5 out of 5, the emotions maybe a 4 out of 5, the epic scenes a 4 out of 5 and the 3D integration with a 5 out of 5, its not cheesy its just right

This anime truly brings out the best there is in all kinds of animes, though it has a variant, confusing story line, it stills pay off with its incredulous actions, great drawings, unique characters, and most important of all, its amazing pervert contents.

Sci-fi meets ecchi to create and an original story to entertain the masses of daily CR members that wants action and cuteness to explode all over their screens

The anime that reminds me of an ancient saying, “You can look, but will not see…” At first glance, the beautiful voice—singing the opening theme will make you experience an effect; as if you were listening to a voice of an angel, with goose-bumps all over you. I am certain; that, even if, you don’t understand Japanese, you would probably feel same the effect, and there goes, what I would call, a perfect camouflage.

The anime was set as futuristic sci-fi, where floating city, undergoing an economic and political sanction, populated by automated bodacious marionettes and humans coexisting in harmony: While alliance of western countries forming faction, against the eastern countries, using the scorch earth tactics; rewriting history as “Testament” to tip the balance of power into their favor.

Behind heaps of the rather alluring fan service, lies a rather deep and sensitive issue, regarding political and economic-sanction. Oratorical debates using parallelism, brings forth three principles of tactical disposition commonly known as follows, “Improvisation, Adaptation, and Overcome.” This was not directly mentioned, however, once you’ve analyzed the arguments and the events, you will understand.

Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere is one of those anime's that you absolutely have to give a look. The animation is great, the songs are catchy, and the storyline is unique.
Based centuries in the future where humans have comeback to Earth from outer-space to find that Japan is the only livable plot of land, the people of Earth create outer dimensions of Japan in order to accommodate all the people and follow the "Testament" in hopes of repeating history and returning to the great beyond.
Now, don't get me wrong, this turned out to be a great series, but he first few episodes are a major information overload and I would definitely recommend going to wikipedia and reading up about the background or your going spend the first five or so episodes ripping your hair out trying to figure what's going on. Other than that, the series was spaced out very well for 12 episodes and the ending was fantastic with a conformation of a second season due out this summer.
So to close out this review, I give Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere five stars and a strong recommendation. Happy viewing!

Second Season:
What can I say, if the first season excited you this one does not disappoint. While it may be confusing to follow the story just like in the previous one, you pretty much figure the whole thing out by the end and the conclusions to this series is the best I have ever seen of any anime I have watched and I have seen my fair share. Great show, can't wait for next season!

I loved this anime. I couldn't even tell you exactly why I love it other than that the main character is... well amazing. If you haven't watched this anime get crackin'. I loved it and if you are into goofy main characters (who have their moments) this is the anime for you. This guy can be stupid at some points, hilarious at others, but it almost seems that there's something more about him. As for everything else, well the plot is difficult to understand, but if you like intricate plots this is a thumbs up. 5 stars.

With so many anime titles out here should you give time to this new one?
Definitely maybe.

What Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere has to offer?
- Great action.
- Weird and slightly perverse comedy.
- Great detailed animation.
- Good video game-ish fighting concepts/mechanics.
- Cool weapons.
- And lots and lots and lots.....of boobies of all shapes and sizes (covered) but there none the less.

I won't go over the story as I don't even really understand it yet (and I like to think I understand serial experiment lain).

It's not really so hard to understand, it's just they throw everything and the kitchen sink at you so fast you don't have time to take it all in. I can't even remember the name of the heroes/heroines...but once they start fighting it doesn't really matter.

I'll keep watching because the action and the technology is cool and streamlined; also the production value seems high.

For people who have ADD and fear extreme convoluted stories, I suggest you check it out and just fast forward to the action scenes.

Horizon in the Middle of the Boobies, I'd give you a 3.5 outta 5 if I could but since I can't, i'll round it up to at 4.
