It's one of my favorites!!! Really Love it, it makes me laugh a lot, I really hope there is a 2nd season, 3rd season, and more!!! It's not on CR anymore, but if you have the opportunity to watch it, don't think it twice, and watch it!

I just started a new job, and I wanted to find a short anime to watch before bed to relax my mind and laugh at to de-stress.

Hyakko was a perfect fit.

Each episode, I feel, can stand alone, each as a little skit comedy.
As you watch them in order, you find the character development to be subtle and hidden within each of the budding friendships.
As a viewer, I could associate with every character, and most of the situations (besides the slightly perverted photo shoots, haha).
I do think that the storyline was a bit rushed at the very end, mostly the last two episodes, but perhaps, I wanted it to enjoy the character interaction more and have a few more laughs before it was over.

I would definitely watch this series again. Now if I could only find another that is just as satisfying

Another Spark of anime Joy !

I found when searching for fun things to watch , it first reminded me of the best student council, but this girl high school brought it's own charachter with a bright vareity of joy and fun, like the photography clucb a mix of nerds, odds, stand-outs,exception peeps and silent types

the teachers or i would say main teach that they use in the ep's is cool. . . and the linking of the friendships is cool.

the only down side is the ending but i will leave that to you find out and read the storyline through the episodes

i would indeed recommend this to anyone to watch if they want fun to enjoy etc..

enjoy ! ! !

Pretty funny episodic comedy

Let's get this out of the way from the beginning - Hyakko is not an artistic masterpiece of anime. It's a lightweight, episodic, character-driven anime that's twice as funny as K-ON!, but only about half as moe. Based on sales and ratings, it looks like moe won. But if you're in the mood for a school-life comedy that isn't too fan-service oriented, you can probably watch a couple of episodes at a time and enjoy yourself.

Hyakko resembles K-On! in several ways: both are highly episodic, with minimal plot beyond what's necessary to get a few laughs, both are centered around a small group of school girls that start out loosely bound but become (mostly) tight friends by the end of the show, and both tend to a sense of humor that is sexually oriented, but never quite reaches an ecchi level. The characters in both shows border on the stereotypical, but Hyakko has a larger cast and is able to spread the "types" around a little more.

Hyakko's animation design is more like Natsu no Arashi than K-on, with cartoonish characters that typically have distorted head designs. As with Natsu, this works well with the comedy. The visual designs for the characters are appealing and reflect the personality of the character. No cardboard cutout robot girls whose only difference is the hair color. Even if the characters have one dimensional personalities (the shy one, the lesbian, etc.), they remain true to their type in both appearance and action. Somehow, despite the stereotyping, they manage to get my sympathy and interest.

But Hyakko has less plot than either K-On or Natsu no Arashi. The episode structure is more like Spongebob, with two short unconnected (or only vaguely connected) stories included in each episode. Any plot that exists is either for an extended joke or to reveal back story about a character (or two). But the back story never really affects how the characters interact, because it's usually a flashback rather than a revelation to the other characters. Each half episode is usually an extended joke of some sort with miscellaneous other laughs along the way.

Musically, the opener "It's Only Love" is memorable and appealing, possibly even classic. It does lay open to parody since the original lyrics are bilingual (I keep wanting to sing along :"Stupid bishoujo", even though it's "supin" ). As usual, I don't pay much attention to the other music in the show unless it grabs my attention. That didn't happen here.

All in all Hyakko is a fun little show, but not one you need to stay up late for.

Okay well this anime is very unique. The story line, is really non-existent. But even though there is no real plot or any sort of ultimate goal for the characters it all seems to play out amazingly.

The characters are the most unique bunch you will ever see all in one anime. They are also characters we can relate to. When you watch this anime all you can think of is your own friends. They make you laugh for saying stupid things and cry from laughter from saying extremely stupid things.

The episodes surprise you with totally random stuff. You never really can predict an anime like Hyakko.

Excellent series with strong main female character

Hyakko centers around the main character, a girl just trying to get by in school like everyone else - but - she is outspoken, popular and totally in her own class. Hyakko is the tiger of the school, bringing together those within and without, in her search for becoming her future self. Each week the story centers on something new, as things evolve and revolve around everyone in school. School life drama and comedy in a good mix - each episode is nearly unique unto itself. The last episode wraps things up with a surprise. I wont spoil it. Overall it's a nice series, well worth it to watch.

For those that are wondering, both Hyakko and Toradora were released at roughly the same time - Hyakko is the Tiger, and Toradora the Palmtop Tiger. This was intentional.

This is a re-watch for me of the DVD version and the artwork in general has rough spots but is in general pleasing to the eye with many varied character designs which I like. The music is okay for the most part with the creators borrowing a little Vivaldi for some scenes, but it works. The OP and ED are also very catchy. There isn't really a storyline as this is more of a slice-of-life character piece with everyone's interaction being the basis of the comedy, much like Seinfeld in way, it is something that this show does very well in my opinion. The characters are what make this show great from the main group of four expanding out to the rest of the class, each with their own look and personality. If you like high school comedies, you can't go wrong with Hyakko.
