Shirakiin Ririchiyo is a 15 year old girl with the tendency to distance herself from others in order to spare herself the possibility of hurting them. Ironically enough she does so by insulting and speaking condescendingly to those who she wants to spare. Miketsukami Soushi is a 22 year old servant, supposedly a secret service member, who admires Ririchiyo in a deity like manner for reasons unknown. (Until later.) The story for the series is not completely unoriginal, but it's not something I haven't seen before. I would have liked to see more from the story telling, but I suppose I was fine with what was given. The music for the show was very good. I enjoyed the opening theme very much, and the ending themes were all very nicely done. The background music was also good, suiting all the situations created in the series. The characters seem a bit cliched, but all likable for their own reasons. With a lineup consisting of monsters, demons, drag queens, spirits, and cute animals there will be bound to be a slew of funny situations. The animation was also good, though some scenes were a bit sloppy. I would have liked to see some cool fights since they're monsters and what not, but it's whatever now. Overall, the series is quite good, humor and romance are what drives the series. Worth a watch, but not as a priority.

I first watched this anime because I found the title to be intriguing, "Dog and I Secret Service"? I personally haven't seen too many shows that feature secret service, plus I was a bit tired of watching Bleach and in the mood for something different. I try to stay away from romantic themed anime because it tends to move at a predictable, slow pace for me, but this anime had action, lots of comedy, entertaining ending themes and romance that seem to flow well with the general mood of the show. The only thing I didn't like about this show was that it was way too short for me. I would have loved a 24 episode season at least, but maybe they will create a second season, from what I've read online, there is a part two in the manga that was not at all explored in the 12 episodes. In short, it's an awesome anime that need to be drawn out a bit more to further add to its already solid appeal and greatness. ^_^

the animation is great and didn't look rushed through at all!
the characters are well-developed but just a little bit more information on them?
the music is pretty good just some of the music was not very catchy or anything.
the story line was fine just needs more adventure or something because they only show a few seconds of fight scenes and mostly just small un-important ones

This anime is now on my faves list I loved it I watched it from beginning to end in one sitting lol which is a rarity ! From the different characters which I loved. I watch a few anime who lost their momentum midway through the series and to my sadness I usually drop them. But this one I will buy and recommend to others

Guess there really is hope for all of us who live less than perfect lives in secret, unsure of the future, afraid of pain & loneliness. Thank God, anime & manga .... now if we just bring ourselves to be this open and honest with ourselves & others, it'd be a great start.

Here is a series that comes along and breaks the norm of many shows of this same genre. Instead of being left completely open ended without closure, this show at least gives you some.
This is a romance/comedy that surrounds a group of people who have special powers. In service to them are Secret Service agents who tend to their safety and day to day lives. They also carry special powers.
The show itself has its share of staple character personalities but ends up mixed rather well. There is a fair bit of fan service throughout the series but it too is done rather well (tastefully done).
What drew me most though is the relationships between all the members. Throughout the show it is shown that there are those who wish to harm its residents but this takes a backseat to the storyline and history of each of the characters.
Oh course the main draw is between Ririchiyo (recently resident) and Miketsukami (her assigned body guard). It was cute to see her guarded nature slowly stripped away by Miketsukami and his often funny antics and comments in regards to her. Through the series you can't help but root for the two and hope they end up together.
All in all it is a color cast of characters (especially Kagerou and his S&M antics) and a cute storyline make for a memorable series. The only drawback I found to this is the lack of soundtrack (and being able to find such on the internet) but do not let the music distract you from this great and romantic storyline.
Here's hoping for a Season 2!

I normally don't like romance, but I was able to bear with this because the real soap-opera type sh*t didn't show up until the last five minutes of the last episode. If you do like romance, well-written romance that is, than this still worth watching for that aspect. Really what this is about is a story of personal discovery, hurt, and overcoming one's personal flaws. As a writer myself, I deeply value well-written character development and progression, and I definitely see that here. As the characters interact with each other, they learn and subsequently change based on that interaction, and I honestly couldn't wait to see what they would do next throughout the entire thing.
As I understand it, this show was false-tagged as "action" and It is most certainly not that. There are one or two scenes where we see them fighting off big monsters and such, but they are brief and only serve to put the characters into situations where they can interact and progress.
As for the characters themselves, they are well written, entertaining, and usually funny, if you enjoy crude sex humor. I wouldn't go as far to say that they are all really deep, but they are all very unique and serve a very definitive purpose to the narrative.
Some people may find the back story unnecessary at first, but it is actually used quite often through out the story to explain the characters and why they are the way they are. However, it could have been explored more, and in many ways, I wish that it would have, as the back story is far more interesting (to me, at least) than the romance between the two main characters. Personally, I got hooked on the story after the first episode because I think humans are boring and fox-people are cool as hell, but that's just me.
EDIT: Something I forgot to mention when I posted this review is that the music absolutely sucks. The main theme is alright, and the ending credit songs are cool, especially the way they change based on which character was the focus of the episode, but a for the music that is actually in the anime, it is awful. There is like one loop that plays anytime anything remotely "exciting" happens, and it's unbearable, and the other music isn't well done either. Just a personal pet-peeve, and I still think this show is awesome.

As a whole, I really enjoyed this show. I enjoyed it to the point of finding the manga and reading it as well (I just wish it'd be scanlated sooner O_o ).
The strongest point of this story lies in the characters and their quirks. They are all very endearing and interesting. I am completely in love with the stalker-ish Miketsukami-kun! I love the banter that goes on between him and Ririchiyo-sama. I love the "maniac" Snow Queen and her relationship with the rug.

Karuta and Watanuki are adorable together (I love watching him blush!). Mr Rabbit is quite the mysterious and strange person, and Kagerou is...well... odd and ridiculous (but in an entertaining way!).
I really love the lore behind the characters. I loved the last few episodes when we finally get some back story to Miketsukami. I love how he's connected to Ririchyo. I love the last episode- sooo sweet! I couldn't help but watch it over and over!
The music is also very fun to listen to. Mucc's "Nirvanna" (the opening) is addictive with the vocals and instrumentals. I love Miketsukami's song (you can find the full version online) because the lyrics heavily represent his character as the ultimate stalker- plus the music and his vocals are great. Karuta's song is amusing and she's got the cutest voice. Kagerou's song... I still need to find the English translation for it, because, knowing him, the song is quite kinky.
The comedy is very funny. My favorite parts are whenever Ririchyo tells Miketsukami to just "eat" whatever she gave him that he's decided to keep in storage/memorial. I also crack up when she finds he's read the letter she wrote, and the color drains from her (she becomes like line-art), and then hangs up quietly before panicking. That was very realistic and awesome to watch. "I'm going on a journey!" :D
In short, there are some moments that are slowish or odd, but stick to it through the end and it'll be worth your while!

Don't expect shonen or plentiful action because that doesn't happen here. The most intense action scenes are all quick and end fluffy.
I started this expecting one thing, thinking I'm getting another, and finished with something completely different.
The first couple episodes seemed like they had unreasonably flat characters and an oddly patched story line; which, it still kinda does, but it doesn't ruin it. The few battles that do take place just should have been extended or had more substance- they seemed more filler than relevant to the story aside from reiterating the characters' lore.
The comedy is great. The drama is even better.
Don't drop it if you think it's going downhill; it takes a bit but everything really unfolds wonderfully.
