This anime has terrible pacing. After episode one, there was literally no where to go. After a few episodes things became very repetitive. Sex scenes(A lot of them)->interruption->problem occurs->Solution-> Repeat steps 1-4. And thus you have Kanokon.

This anime has terrible pacing. After episode one, there was literally no where to go. After a few episodes things became very repetitive. Sex scenes(A lot of them)->interruption->problem occurs->Solution-> Repeat steps 1-4. And thus you have Kanokon.
The protagonist, Kota is pursued relentlessly from the start by Chizuru who immediately says she loves Kota who she just met that day. It was also revealed she is a 400 year old fox spirit of sorts. Any normal person would have hightailed it out of there like a bat out of Hell. The irony is, the main character, Kota, is the meekest person that anyone could ever encounter. Now maybe it's because she's laying down the guilt trips pretty hard and crying her eyes out; Kota does actually try to comfort her in which he succeeds with a few words and little effort. After which, Chizuru immediately jumps all over Kota and begins undressing him in attempt to have intercourse with him. Now, this all might sound like a good premise for a one-night stand but in actuality, it was the premise of a badly written romance.
The bond they apparently share is also cleared up in episode one. By fusing bodies and based on the size of the flame they can make, represents the bond they share. The flame they can make upon just meeting is about the size of a large DBZ spirit bomb or giant rasengan from Naruto. Maybe the writers are trying to convey the idea they loved each other at first sight, who knows.
Later on we see another "wolf" spirit, similar to Chizuru. She's also appears to be crazy about Kota. Not nearly as much as mindless Chizuru, but the new wolf spirit that goes by the name of Nozomu is much more collect and speaks in a monotone voice. Nozomu does little to thicken the plot but she is an additonal medium for humor and a small conflict for Chizuru. We constantly see that Kota has the same effect on Fox and Wolf spirits as Justin Bieber has on preadolescent and preteen girls.
There's a sequence in this show that tends to repeat itself alot. I mentioned it earlier, steps 1-4. After so many sex scenes, a complication arises; now repeating these steps doesn't seem too bad unless whatever complication that's around is always thwarted by Kota and Chizuru fusing to create a giant fireball. A running theme in the show, when in doubt, "Hadoken!"
What exactly bothers me about this show? For one, fact that the main characters are very static and never really change. Lesser characters like Tayura, Chizuru's brother and Akane, the girl Tayura has a bit of a crush on. These two lesser characters would have been a much better couple to center the spotlight on as their relationship makes significant changes while with Kota and Chizuru it's always the same old story: "Let's make love, Kota." "I don't really want to." "Okay then, maybe next episode" That paraphrased conversation about sums up their entire romance.
If you're looking for a good anime with an actual and solid plot, deep characters, and any messages or morals then this show is definitely not for you. If you're mostly looking for humor centered around sexual tension and anything related and don't care at all about a storyline then you might get something out of this show.
I am not exaggerating about the story and plot, you could literally watch episodes 1-11 in any order and watch episode 12 and probably follow it for the most part.
Second to Dragon Ball GT, this is the worst anime I have ever seen.
