    It surpassed all my expectations
The script is great, the story is engaging and entertaining, the characters are lovable, and the soundtrack is perfect. I wish there was more of this anime, or at least more like it. Truly one of a kind and the best anime to be made in a long time.

    Beautiful and Full of Life
this is an anime that would make you laugh, cry, smile, think of going back to the 60's so on. Its very touching, like a reality through anime lenses thats how i would put it. you will be enchanted by every jazz jam played by the characters be you a jazz lover or not. I recommend it for everyone.

    Watch This NOW seriously
Let's do a trivia here! Are you someone who wants to know what it is like back in the 1960's? Ever wanted to build an escapism from the harsh reality of today's world? Want to just sit back and enjoy some old school music after a stressful day? Well, perhaps you've found a series worthy to invest your time into because Kids on the Slope is there and sure to give you something to think ...

    Pure Perfection.....
Previously posted on my blog: http://looneyexpress.blogspot.com/2013/01/anime-kids-on-slope.html#more

Kids of the Slope was such a pleasant surprise. From the synopsis, I imagined a typical music anime, just one based on jazz. However, it was amazing to discover that this series was about so much than that.

Kaoru is the new kid of the slope (their school is atop a hill) and ...

allegro: the sweet sour of futures
With anime it is often about archtypes and grand stories, not the small idyll which high school is revealed in retrospect. This anime is more about character and the way challenge is dealt with than any traditional guy meet girl, wait a few episodes for them to fall in love, etc.
The questions faced are ones you have faced: how does what I love as a hobby translate after high school, and can ...

Although it's not the best Slice Of Life anime, It's definitely worth watching.
Kids on The Slope is exactly what you would expect from an anime from a Slice Of Life or Seinen genre—intelligent and mature. Themes and Tribulations that reflects reality. It's like re-experiencing life or acquiring new experiences. It's exactly why I gave Kids on The Slope a four stars. It's totally expected.

To justify my four stars as opposed to five stars, let me explain genres. Titles ...

Full Tilt Apollo on the Slope!
I have never watched a H.S. drama but this one came highly recommended so I decided to give it a try. I was really surprised to find that I actually liked it! I talk a little about the show below and so I have to hint at some of the details but I've tried to avoid the main plot points.

    SYNOPSIS
Kaoru moves to Kyushu and of course he feels lonely and awkward at his new H.S. Sen, the kid ...

    Jazzin' it Up with Faith
Kids on the Slope (Sakamichi no Apollon, in Japanese romanji) takes place in mid-1960s Japan and focuses on the lives of a group of high school kids who have a love for American jazz. Through the romance, the music, and of course, the drama, this josei series created by Yuki Kodama tells how life itself is like a jazz compilation: spontaneous, beautiful, and always finishes with an unpredictable ...

    Amazing, a must watch...
Saying, "The overwhelming positive ratings speak for themselves" has never been more true with this anime. It's beautiful. The story, the music, the entire package is pure bliss.

There was moments that I laughed loudly, moments I literally cried, and moments I found myself pretty angry. It really draws you in.

My only gripe is that the anime is too short. But, that said it deserves a 5 ...

    One of the best animes!
It has to be one of the best animes ever to come out of Japan! It can be heart-rendering but heart-warming at times! Friendship(s) can be beautiful to have if it is cultivated with a lot of love and care, it can go a long way! That's what I believe. I do not know if this holds true for our present-day society because of the internet and video games that we are terribly addicted to! Back then, ...
