allegro: the sweet sour of futures
With anime it is often about archtypes and grand stories, not the small idyll which high school is revealed in retrospect. This anime is more about character and the way challenge is dealt with than any traditional guy meet girl, wait a few episodes for them to fall in love, etc.
The questions faced are ones you have faced: how does what I love as a hobby translate after high school, and can ...

Although it's not the best Slice Of Life anime, It's definitely worth watching.
Kids on The Slope is exactly what you would expect from an anime from a Slice Of Life or Seinen genre—intelligent and mature. Themes and Tribulations that reflects reality. It's like re-experiencing life or acquiring new experiences. It's exactly why I gave Kids on The Slope a four stars. It's totally expected.

To justify my four stars as opposed to five stars, let me explain genres. Titles ...

Full Tilt Apollo on the Slope!
I have never watched a H.S. drama but this one came highly recommended so I decided to give it a try. I was really surprised to find that I actually liked it! I talk a little about the show below and so I have to hint at some of the details but I've tried to avoid the main plot points.

    SYNOPSIS
Kaoru moves to Kyushu and of course he feels lonely and awkward at his new H.S. Sen, the kid ...

    Jazzin' it Up with Faith
Kids on the Slope (Sakamichi no Apollon, in Japanese romanji) takes place in mid-1960s Japan and focuses on the lives of a group of high school kids who have a love for American jazz. Through the romance, the music, and of course, the drama, this josei series created by Yuki Kodama tells how life itself is like a jazz compilation: spontaneous, beautiful, and always finishes with an unpredictable ...

    Amazing, a must watch...
Saying, "The overwhelming positive ratings speak for themselves" has never been more true with this anime. It's beautiful. The story, the music, the entire package is pure bliss.

There was moments that I laughed loudly, moments I literally cried, and moments I found myself pretty angry. It really draws you in.

My only gripe is that the anime is too short. But, that said it deserves a 5 ...

    One of the best animes!
It has to be one of the best animes ever to come out of Japan! It can be heart-rendering but heart-warming at times! Friendship(s) can be beautiful to have if it is cultivated with a lot of love and care, it can go a long way! That's what I believe. I do not know if this holds true for our present-day society because of the internet and video games that we are terribly addicted to! Back then, ...

And at the end, I totally cried like a baby. T-T
Kids on the Slope is one of the best anime in a long time. And there are three specific reasons why(completely based on my opinion):
    1. It is beautifully crafted, both visually and aurally (I mean, com'on people, it's JAZZ. Jazz is the best).
    2. Yeah, okay there are some love triangles. Sometimes, love triangles can really suck the life out of an anime. They go on and on and no one ...

My favorite anime of this year so far.
Wow can I just say that this series took me by surprise. I was hooked on the first episode. The characters portrayed an honest love-triangle and acted like actual high school students. The music in this series is really beautiful and I loved that they played jazz. The art style is unique and the colors that they used changed along with the context of the plot. This added to the overall tone and ...

    Absolutely worth the time.
A perfect mix of emotion, excitement, and timeless romance all combine to make this series a must watch for any slice of life enthusiast. Not a slice of life kind of guy or gal? Don't worry, you wont feel disappointed having invested the time to watch the entire show in an afternoon off.

Beginning with the typical dejected protagonist down on his luck and stuck in a bad family situation, our ...

A timeless story of growing up, making friends and falling in love
A timeless story of growing up, making friends and falling in love. Why is this series so popular? Because we can all relate to it. As you watch, you relive all your past insecurities in youth such as not feeling pretty enough, strong enough, smart enough, popular enough.

There are things in life that are beyond what we can physically see. Friendship and love are two of these special ...
