  • Kids on the slope / my coming of age
As I approach my last year in school I find my-self questioning what I want to become in this world and what I'll leave (deep I know but don't worry its not all this depressing). Kids on the slope is a an anime that in my opinion comes round very rarely and is scarcely appreciated for what it is, a great, realistic look at a random life somewhere. I like these types of animes as they make me ...

  • Incredibly Wonderful
I've been a fan of jazz music. Kids on the Slope increases my adoration for jazz.

The music. The music! THE MUSIC! It is absolutely wonderful! That's to be expected when you've got Yoko Kanno working on it. There was a smile on my face every time the character would jam.

Kids on the Slope is one of the most realistic animes I've seen. The story is easy to follow. The characters suck you ...

Although it's not the best Slice Of Life anime, It's definitely worth watching.
Kids on The Slope is exactly what you would expect from an anime from a Slice Of Life or Seinen genre—intelligent and mature. Themes and Tribulations that reflects reality. It's like re-experiencing life or acquiring new experiences. It's exactly why I gave Kids on The Slope a four stars. It's totally expected.

To justify my four stars as opposed to five stars, let me explain genres. Titles ...

As the story progresses, the two boys struggle to maintain their friendship through various misunderstandings, disagreements, and ...

  • Amazing. Just amazing.
The voice acting is top notch, the opening theme addicting, and the animation is stunning. I've never been a fan of jazz music, but this series captured not just the sound, but the feel of the music and the era. The characters were relatable and real.

  • A truly well done anime
I was a huge fan of Cowboy Bebeop. When I heard that the Director and Composer from Cowboy Bebop would be collaborating on an anime about Jazz Music, I was very excited.

Kids on the Slope completely surpassed all expectations. It has a beautifully written story line, a cast of well developed characters, some beautiful animation, and some of the greatest music you can find in anime. ...

Full Tilt Apollo on the Slope!
I have never watched a H.S. drama but this one came highly recommended so I decided to give it a try. I was really surprised to find that I actually liked it! I talk a little about the show below and so I have to hint at some of the details but I've tried to avoid the main plot points.

    SYNOPSIS
Kaoru moves to Kyushu and of course he feels lonely and awkward at his new H.S. Sen, the kid ...

  • One of the absolute best, to be sure.
In every sense of that expression. From the music to the detail put into the animation (it resembles watercolors) and intricacies of the characters, this masterpiece is bound to captivate you. It's sure moving me.

    Jazzin' it Up with Faith
Kids on the Slope (Sakamichi no Apollon, in Japanese romanji) takes place in mid-1960s Japan and focuses on the lives of a group of high school kids who have a love for American jazz. Through the romance, the music, and of course, the drama, this josei series created by Yuki Kodama tells how life itself is like a jazz compilation: spontaneous, beautiful, and always finishes with an unpredictable ...
