    My New Favorite Anime
I was very skeptical about watching this series when I first saw it a few weeks ago on CR. I thought it was interesting, especially after seeing the trailers, but put it in the back of my mind. I finally started watching it a few nights ago because the title still stuck to me, and I loved it and am still loving it.

The story follows a transfer student (Kaoru) who unwillingly befriends a "rough ...

At first, meh. At second, Oh my!
I could bore you with the characters, with the plot and the context there of, but "Kids on the Slope" shines where many anime have fallen before and that is substance. More have action, more have character development, others have excitement in it's one episode, but this show has once again (a term i have used before) more soul than all of them. Even the first fifteen minutes i was wondering the ...

  • Wow!!! Wow!!! Wow!!!
Beautifully done! The artwork, storyline, the characters, the animation and the music! A great "coming of age" story set in the mid to late 1960s (is my guess...).

A great story of three friends, two of whom will be forever connected through a jazz song; it always brings them back.

I love the artwork and animation of the characters performing - one of the best I've seen in a long time. ...

  • Kids on the Slope; Jazz to my Ears.
I'll start off with saying I'm a music lover. No, I'm not one of those angtsy teens who learned how to play guitar in high school and now think they can have a music career and travel around because they just love music (Which happens to consist of Corporate Auto-tuned Top-10 Pop Songs).

I love actual music. I love Celtic Tin-Flutes to Gospel Organ Music (I'm not actually a ...

  • Jazz, Friends, and Romance. What Else Do You Need?
The perfect duo of Watanabe and Kanno does it again. Kids on the Slope is a fantastic anime that tells a heartfelt story between three friends who are drawn together by jazz. The story deals with themes such as heartbreak, growing up, and feeling out of place in the world and it is all beautiful.

The animation is crisp, fluid, and gets near fantastic when the characters are playing their ...

  • Now I need another series to fill the void...
Just did a marathon of this inadvertently. My first impressions from the first few episodes were that this was a good anime, but after so many series that either plateaued or became mediocre, there was no indication that it would just get better and even become one of my favourites. 10/10 GREAT ANIME

  • At the Top of Its Class.. or Slope In This Case
Loved how this anime progressed. The character development was top notch; you can't help but connect with even the side characters. The animation was brilliant, especially since the small town that acts as the environment is an actual place in Japan! The level of detail in comparison is nearly identical. There's a very unique and original feel to it, and I was happy to find there weren't any ...

  • You must watch. Amazin
The music, the characters the plot are all amazing. While the time skips are annoying at times everything else makes up for it. Ever single character develops and becomes their own person.

  • This Series has it all
Comedy, drama, romance, camaraderie, and the best soundtrack I've ever heard. You will laugh and cry with this series. This is a very music heavy series (jazz) and if you're anything like me, it will make you want to give jazz a chance. I've been listening to Art Blakey for weeks since I've finished this series.
