  • Have supplies before you start
Once you start down the slope its hard to stop. But entirely worth it. One of the best anime on CR. Be prepared to marathon this, even if you don't mean to.

The music gets into your head and your heart and won't let go. I've got to see if there is an OST for sale somewhere. Enjoy.

  • Stunning Music Anime
One of my top 25 anime somewhat simple but very powerful and immersive. From early on you develop a connection to the characters and once they start working together and getting to know each other it becomes amazing. What happens when you see what trails they pull through and how the characters evolve is wonderful. After watching and even during I've grown a fondness for Jazz which I didn't ...

  • Kids on the Slope - Beautiful and Touching
On a cold rainy morning I am listening to a Kids on The Slope playlist on Spotify and it is sublime (there are two but you can't go wrong really). This Anime was set in post World War II Japan about three high school students that spend a lot of time playing and obsessing over jazz music. The kids alternate between facing and running from their demons but the best part was they took it out not ...

  • The must watch anime!
It is rare to find a show that is so pure and honest with it's story. The movement and flow, the music and color, everything takes you for a ride that you never want to get off. Even so, when it finally ends, you can't help but smile as you find your heart warmed by the efforts made by the entire staff behind this show. From top to bottom, you can tell that there was a considerable amount of ...

  • The ending made me cry, but they were tears of joy!
I've watched a lot of anime, and only one other (Planetes) has evoked this emotional reaction from me. To think I could get this attached to characters in just 12 episodes! Extremely well written, great music, superb animation, even the background art is stunning. I would highly recommend Kids on the Slope to anyone, whether they're a fan of anime or not. Easily in my top three of all time. Time ...

  • Jazzy Slice of Life!
Yoko Kanno's involvement with the music of this series is what reeled me in. The characters and their developing relationships make you want to stay to the very end.

If only my life could have a jazzy Yoko Kanno soundtrack.

  • WOW. this one blew my mind.
Very simplistic story telling. Just about some high school kids in a small secluded town going through life and playing jazz music. Sounds boring I know but truly a well written anime. This has to be one of the best ones I've watched recently if only because it didn't succumb to the stereotypical character designs and story twists we see a lot in slice of life animes. As someone mentioned in one ...

  • Definitely my favorite anime!
It's really hard for me to really love an anime but Kids on the Slope is just perfection.

The characters are "realistic" and gets good development. I don't think there was a single character I didn't like in this anime. They were all interesting in their own ways. Brother Jun was my favorite to be honest. You really get attached to them throughout the series which is why it makes it my ...

  • Beautiful, Jazzy Coming of Age Story
If you like anime, or jazz, or the 1960s, or good stories: Watch this show.

Beautiful slice-of-life, with a gorgeous emphasis on the love of (specifically jazz) music. Come for the music, stay for the feels.

  • I Simply Loved This Anime
I got majorly hooked to this anime, and watched it all in one day.
    Yep.
I just loved it. The story was amazing, good character development, and the animation was fluid and smooth.
This anime isn't really a kiddish one, I think it may be under Seinen, it goes very deep into the relationships of the characters and is a nice slice of life anime that deals with real life problems in a way.
