Okay. So I'm going to admit this is the first ever harem anime I've ever watched. I'm also going to admit that it really isn't the best series ever. It's based an adult visual novel which was then made into a video game for the PS2 as well as the PSP. The adult content is not even seen within the series, however. Okay. So I'm going to admit this is the first ever harem anime I've ever watched. I'm also going to admit that it really isn't the best series ever. It's based an adult visual novel which was then made into a video game for the PS2 as well as the PSP. The adult content is not even seen within the series, however. There are, of course, those moments of "fan-service" with the almost panty shots and the bikini top coming off, but they are actually at a minimum.
Storyline
The story is about a group of students living in their school dormitory, only they are the only ones living there, and the owners of the school want to tear it down. The story for each episode somewhat differs. Every two episodes are a continuation of the story of how the main character, Hoshino, met each of the girls living at the dormitories with him. (which, let's be realistic, no school would do that right?) The main storyline of the series, I believe, is a bit more realistic and original than most. However, since the stories of each two episodes combine rather badly, the viewers can be left a little lost. I know I was.
Music
So about the music. The main things, of course, are the opening and ending theme songs. The opening song is by KAORI with the title being the same as the anime - "Kono Aozora ni Yakusoku wo." It's a pretty standard poppy anime opening. It's not bad by any means, just pretty generic, with vocals that aren't as nasally as the standards. The ending theme ("Aozora no Fantasia" by Ayumi Murata) is also about the same way. As for the actual soundtrack within the series - it's basically your standard anime background music. I can't really say much else on it because it's not very memorable and pretty generic.
Characters
Oh goodness. Okay, so the characters. The main character, Hoshino, is your run of the mill realistic anime hero. He gets put into various situations that cause him to get into trouble, and he always manages to get out of it. As for the female characters - they're just about as standard anime as you can get. There's the shy girl who always cries, the air-headed female teacher, the tomboyish character who refuses to be apart of the group but eventually joins, the mature girl, the monotonous child figure, and the modest rich girl. Nothing special about the characters at all.
Animation
Probably the best thing about this anime. The animation is very smooth and transitions well.
The Verdict
If you're really a huge fan of harem anime, then this is about as bland as they get. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're the type of person who likes cute romances that don't involve gratuitous amounts of vulgarities and enormous breasts. I think the only reason I kept up with watching it was because of its extremely short length (13 episodes).
