"Diamond in the Rough"

At first glance this series seems to be "just one of those other shows" and some will just ignore it, BUT! This series is truly a diamond in the rough, with an original plot line involving esper's and depicting how they would be treated "realistically"

Current themes lie under (slice of life, supernatural, comedy, drama, romance, school)

Our shujinko (protagonist) is Koutoura, she acts like ...

At first glance this series seems to be "just one of those other shows" and some will just ignore it, BUT! This series is truly a diamond in the rough, with an original plot line involving esper's and depicting how they would be treated "realistically"

Current themes lie under (slice of life, supernatural, comedy, drama, romance, school)

Our shujinko (protagonist) is Koutoura, she acts like your everyday normal girl with the ability to read minds, but other's view her as something else. Because of this ability, she has been shunned and traumatized, but with the help of Manabe and other's in the ESP research club, she begins to overcome her past.

This slice of life took me on an emotional roller coaster, the anime began with a cutesy normal beginning, but once Kotoura's esper powers are realized, reality hits us, depicting the discrimination to people who are "different" and then some gags are thrown in the mix.

The character designs I wouldn't say are top notch, however the designs suits this anime really well, and crunchyroll offfers 1080p for this, so the quality is excellent.

This is one quality anime that one should not overlook, I'd recommend this "bag of mixed goods" to anyone who enjoys a nice heartfelt story involving a realistic depiction of prejiduce against espers.

Man, this show was really good! The pacing was perfect and i'm glad that by the end of it everything was fleshed out well enough... A lot of people seem to want more but after THAT ending? What more could you ask for?...

It was a sweet story about a girl who was shunned by virtually everyone who in the end finds exactly where she belongs... I'm really glad how things turned out

Mind reading and cliffhangers

This show made me ball like a little girl. Its an interesting concept, but I didn't really like how short it was. hopefully it gets a season 2. It does have some ecchi in it but once you get passed that It beautiful. Hope this review helps!

Strong and Enjoyable Show

Forget the characters, forget the odd mixture of serious drama and comedy, forget Kotoura's psychic ability. Above all else, this is a fun show to watch. Though not the greatest slice of life rom com I've seen, it might be one of the most enjoyable one I've seen. Manabe and Kotoura's relationship is very beautiful, despite all the pervy stuff that goes on. This show was very consistent in quality ...

If you're looking for a funny, if sometimes crazy and unpredictable show, do yourself a favor and watch Kotoura-san, one of winter 2013's best shows.

Dramatic Hook But Lightens Up

Watch the first 10 minutes of Kotoura-san and you'll have enough of a hook to watch the rest. For those looking for less drama and more comedy, don't worry the whole season is full of light hearted fluff that is anchored in the story of this sweet little girl who deserves a break from the friends she makes. Very amusing and sweet, although it gets a bit predictable in the end.

Just give this anime about 10 minutes

Just give this anime about 10 minutes of your live and you'll see what I meant. This is one of the best anime I've ever seen for a long time. At the first impression, it made me cry and I couldn't stop weeping over it. However, the mood suddenly just changes in a snap and next thing I know, I'm dying with laughter.

Great Combination! Loved this anime!

I was already hooked on to this anime from the very beginning, the intro was great, but sad. I couldn't stop watching it and now when I've reached the end I wish there were more to watch. Despite the fact that I want more it did end well.

She finally met her mother again in a more peaceful, but surprising way and things started to be like it was before her mother left her.

This anime used a great combination of both drama, romance and comedy. Even though it was sad, you were still happy and I think that Mifune's love to Muroro and Manabe's pervertness are important in this anime since they were things that made you happy and laugh. And her grandfather's and Manabe's relationship is also really funny. I just love it how her grandfather keeps telling him stuff and that he should make a move on Kotoura. It's a great combination and the choice of characters and voice actors were a great decision. It might be easy to say this now, but I don't think it would be as great as it is if you were to swap voice actors or characters. It's just plain awesome as it is!

There will probably not be anymore seasons of this anime since it ended well, but I still hope for more! Great work and I hope I'll see more of this soon!

Cute, Sweet Melancholy Undertones

I really enjoyed this anime but I was disappointed with the ending. It was really sweet, cute characters and plot. The ending however, was lacking.

I feel as though it was a little unrealistic (even though it is an anime >_>) and I think it would've been a more emotional ending if they added a few more episodes just to finish it up.

The story itself was neat, something I hadn't really seen before and that made it all the more interesting to watch. Plus, the art was cute and clean cut though. Overall I rate 4/5 good overall (if I could I'd probably do a 4.5/5 but alas I cannot.

The Kotoura San series deserves a dub.

Kotoura-San is such a great and cute series, the five main characters of the series are immediately so lovable especially kotoura Haruka. The plot and the story telling of each episode is very well planned. The interactions between Haruka and Manabe are hilarious.

One of the best animes I have watched in a long time.

This anime was a pleasant surprise to me. I thought it was just going to be another one of those highschool comedies that are everywhere, which is exactly what I wanted so thats not bad, but this anime is SO much more.
It will hit you up side the head with it's unexpected story. You will laugh and cry. And some of you, like me, will even have to skip scenes as it brings back painful memories for ...

Certainly one I want more of. I personally hope the Manga continues as I want more romance with the characters.
