  • Truly an Amazing Series
I found out about this anime when I looked at the manga sales rankings and found out that this was consistently selling in the Top 5 along with series like Naruto and One Piece then I began reading the manga and watching the anime.

I love this anime and it was A LOT better than I expected. The characters are all interesting and unique in their own ways. Kuroko is my favorite. Even though he is ...

  • A fun show, but an awkward misrepresentation of basic principles of organized basketball
    -SOME MILD SPOILERS-

A disclaimer: I don't give away four and five star ratings. This is a 3.5 star show, but they don't give half stars. So if you're on the fence, and you love basketball like I do, you'll find this show very quaint for a lot of reasons. It's actually a fairly neat cultural artifact, because it illustrates how basketball is simply not a dominant element of Japanese sports ...

nowhere near as good as Slam Dunk
Besides the art being upgraded to 21st century, everything else in this anime lacks so much compared to Slam Dunk. Slam Dunk had all these:
    1. well-rounded and interesting characters, including the protagonists, the teammates, the coach, the love interest, and the opponents
    2. better character development and storytelling
    3. romance line

Basically Kuroko's Basketball took out all the ...

    Yup. A cool sports anime
It's like the better, funnier version of Slam Dunk. I actually find the side characters more interesting than the main character a.k.a Kuroko, but that's maybe because he's really quiet.

The only selling point for me is that it is really really REALLY funny, and like any other sports anime, it got a lot of competition especially with the Generation of Miracles thrown in the mix.

  • Hella Basketball Anime
I never thought I'd be interested in watching a show about basketball, however, Kuroko no Basuke was an interesting watch to say the least. Although it extends it's game time into several [3-5] episodes, it it kept me on edge and was suspenseful but at the same time also very comical. (I also love the characters, whether that be by a bias of personality, aesthetics, or both *u*)

    I really ...

  • Appealing to some, but too bland for me
I was recommended this show by several friends, and I watched the first 20 episodes.

At first I thought it was intriguing, but as it went on I found it to be incredibly repetitive. At some point the show just became incredibly bland because of the lead character and the one-dimensional nature of the plot. Yep, you're beating all of your old teammates and sometimes getting beat by them. Yep, ...

    Average sports anime
As my title says, this anime barely breaks average for a sports anime.

The first season is the best, as it hooked me with promises of good characters, interesting basketball games, and decent animation.

Pros: Good animation, likable characters, and fun sports.

Cons: Really bad plot. The main character is praised for being "invisible" on and off the court. In fact, the ONLY thing he is ...

  • SPORTS ANIME. YES!!!
I have a thing for sports anime, so I watched KnB, Free! and Haikyuu. I love how these shows have a running theme of victory, friendship and happiness - it just makes me feel so happy! I mean, it also makes me want to exercise, and then I remember that it's more fun to watch the Generation of Miracles do all that stuff.

Akashi, Kise, Midorima, Takao, Izuki, Himuro and Kagami are adorable. Love ...

one of the better sports series
    Pros:
    - surprisingly realistic approach, even for an over the top sports title
    - simple, yet addicting story
    - interesting characters
    - testosterone driven awesomeness
    - For once, an anime that has a scene taking place in the United States is all english
    - easy to find a favorite character, especially when each person's style of play fits them well

    Cons:
    - No girls. Other than the coach ...
