Lady Death

First off, it was interesting to watch a seemingly "evil" character pursue and fight the actual evil guy. Lady Death, or LD as I like to call her, is basically a girl hellbent (literally) on revenge against her father. She's had enough of his lies and is furious at him for taking away the most important thing in her life. She meets up with an Ally sometime down the line, and together they build an Army to overthrow her father. A decent watch. Don't expect anything groundbreaking, though

The story was well thought out if slightly linear. They left the ending wide open for a sequal or even a spin off series. However, the dialogue was definatelly found wanting. I understand that english voice acting in a dubbed anime is typically of a lesser quality. However, it was not the voice acting itself that lead me to dislike a great deal of teh dialogue. Rather it was the mundane choice of words. A great deal of the dialogue was cheesie even by my standards, and I'm a Naruto fan so that is saying alot haha.

The animation seemed rushed at certain points within the movie and the animator did not seem to know how actual boobs move. Every movement seemed exagerated to distract you to the characters chest rather then the environment. I have to give the artist congratulations on his portrayal of the throne room of hell however, the throne itself seemed lacking.

All in all I found this to be an enjoyable movie that is definatelly worth a watch. Once you can get past the dialogue, and immerse yourself in the story you will agree I am sure.

I thought it was pretty nifty how they start at the part with lucifers demise and then go back to Hope's past. Although the parts with Niccolo were pretty dissapointing- this was a really good anime!!
The animation was amazing and none of the gore was held back- It's pretty annoying when someone gets stabbed and the blade comes out with no blood- but! Not in this anime! I wonder if another one will come out with the Jester and if Lady Death saves her soul...
Everything about this anime was really really great and held my attention.

"Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! It's been a long time since I've watched a real good anime of such quality ... both in story & artwork! And to think, I was looking for another "Mech" story. Well done ADV. Well done." Was my comment on this movie and I meant what I said. I'm a partial fiend to watching anime. Especially some of the Mech or giant robot stuff. But every once in a while I venture into a different story or something with a different theme, such as Inuyasha, or most recently Neo Angelique Abyss. But here with Lady Death I have found a relief from my usual. Sort of a reprieve from the normal "stomp-zilla" that I enjoy watching.
The story is very easy to follow. Short and moves rather quickly (thankfully in English. I get a good dose of Japanese with most of the others. No complaints though), and brings to mind the story of Spawn ... which is similar due to the clown. Is this to say that on the way to Hell there is going to be some Clown bugging you? What a pain that will be.
The artwork was appreciative and realistic. I caught myself whistling at Hope/Lady Death as she walked towards her water basin after the first battle with her fathers warriors. Hey, I'm a guy, I'm single ... and Kudos to the artist/animation teams for not having an overabundance of Boob-bouncing throughout the movie. Albeit Hope and her Mother could stand doing an interview with Playboy Magazine or someone. However, I hope there is a series in the making as the end makes you believe that there is more to come.

After watching this I wanted the anime to actually end by the time it got to the halfway mark. I just didn't like the anime. I am normally a supporter of anime but this is one that didn't keep my attention for long. The storyline was very weak and the music was as well. The animation and characters were fantastic, with the exception of a punk version of Lucifer and the historically incorrect interpretation of his spawns. I have never heard of a daughter always sons, but never daughters. But even so for her to be able to defeat her father the one who is suppose to be the head haunch o of everything in Hell was very ridiculous and well not believable. Even so I am glad he got his butt kicked but he should have been 100x stronger that what he was portrayed in the movie. It was a weak battle between them. I wanted to see more battles, the small battles with the minions was more entertaining than the actual battle.

The climax was built up to nothing, only for it to fall miserably and not deliver on what we wanted. I was built up only to fall hard and when I fell it left some bruising and possibly broken bones. Thus it made me want to rip the anime right off of Crunchyroll itself and throw it into the trash can. This is just one that wasn't living up to my expectations. If there is ever a sequel to this movie I just hope and prey that it is a lot better than this one.

First time I saw it was when my friend brought it. I'm very fussy about what anime I watch, but the detail done in this, peeked my interest, and I saw it and enjoyed it. The only thing that bothers me is that it was too short and moved a little fast for my liking, but other than that it's quite good
