    Wickedly Addictive ;D
To start, I love how the love story goes. Instead of having to wait a dull 5 episodes for the characters to fall in love you get two who already promise themselves to each other through a contract ( > w <) Leading on with a blend of historic and modern into the story and a few laughs, suspense and love triangles and WHAM you get Maoyu!! :D

The art is just perfect!! (I liked it a lot) The ...

    Excellent Anime Adaption
When I first heard rumors about this anime, I admit that I wasn't familiar with any of the background on this manga series. It started online in play format and has since been adapted into a light novel, several manga, and now an anime series. This series is definitely a change of pace, as although it contains elements of fantasy and romance, the driving force behind it is how the 2 main ...

    Simply amazing. Yet...
    This is beyond amazing.

At first,it seems like a comedy/fan service anime, however it turns into much more. Heart touching, not just love. Every round is perfect, but it was rushed. This deserves to be around 20-30 episodes. Every second i spent was perfect,i recommend this to everyone.... as the best short-yet touchy story. The only animes which ever touched my heart were: Angle beats. ...

    Ehh.. Could be better :/
Ep 8/12. The first episode had me absolutely hooked, but later episodes gave me a huge feeling of insufficient development between characters (or content in general,) while at the same time, making it seem like everything is happening too fast with all its time skips. It's slightly upsetting since I had anticipated the series to be solid romance, but, at least during the few times there are ...

Not for people looking for standard fantasy action
In the spirit of Spice and Wolf, this series takes on a certain innocence not often seen in modern series. Most would scoff at a middle-schooler for still being a virgin; perhaps making him/her a target of bullying as a result. Maoyu takes a step back from all that. Instead of the hyped-up drama of a teenage, high school life (usually with something unusual tacked on like a love septagon and/or ...

    From manga to Anime 5+
I really enjoyed reading the manga and the anime is great also. I love how they added more to the anime then the manga. I wont go into details because that would spoil everything but I would recommend this anime.

    Refreshing, A New Favorite
Lately I've been wanting to watch an anime doesn't center around juvenile angst, nihilistic violence, or pious righteousness and I found it in Maoyu.

Well paced and beautifully thought out with characters whose personalities left an endearing and indelible impression as they matured and grew into wonderful people.

A story imbued with the spirit of Courage, Love, Wisdom, Peace, and ...

Best twelve episodes of my life
This is one of the best shows I've ever seen. It's like a unicorn gave birth to an anime ment to be perfection. I think this show should be a 5 star because of it's all around amazing story ,characters , and art.
This is also my first time writing a review and I'm glad its for a good one.

Excellent Anime! wish there were another season but...
Like others have said, this anime takes on an interesting spin battling war with economic prowess. Time is scaled out fairly heavy so an episode might cover a week or 3 months at a time.
The main characters, the mao (Demon King) and yusha (Hero) [mao|yu] spin a web of small developments that encourage others to make their own. It ties these together in a great way and was wonderfully interesting ...

    Very well developed.
Maoyu really feeds that (I think im smart) side of my brain. Both entertaining and educational. I like the way they tied in a bit of romance and comedy. The only reason I give this anime 4 stars as opposed to 5 is because imo the story is ended abruptly. If the anime was a good 10-12 episodes longer id be satisfied. But for now I feel like someone gave me candy, let me like it then smacked it to ...
