    Ehh.. Could be better :/
Ep 8/12. The first episode had me absolutely hooked, but later episodes gave me a huge feeling of insufficient development between characters (or content in general,) while at the same time, making it seem like everything is happening too fast with all its time skips. It's slightly upsetting since I had anticipated the series to be solid romance, but, at least during the few times there are ...

    Never expect the unexpected
I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this, people said that it has the same cast as Spice and Wolf which I didn't watch but heard was very good. I have to say that everything about Maoyuu Maou Yuusha is amazing from the characters, music, animations and especially the story.

What is evil really? interesting question to ask yourself when you're watching this. A demon king that wants to end ...

    Like Spice and Wolf BUT
You know, there's like 15 reviews here that link this to Spice and Wolf, which is accurate. However there is one difference, the Economic Theory in this show though basic is really sound and goes deeper than Spice and Wolf.

This show does a really sneaky good job of teaching the greys in economics and politics. A war where nobody is exactly wrong is refreshing in Anime. If I had a kid I would ...

Excellent Fantasy Universe, but still tied into a harem anime format
The struggle between demon lord and hero is the struggle between good and evil. Each must strive to lead his particular faction to victory... In truth, it could never be that simple and if it was, it would be boring.
<The following only spoils Ep. 1.>

  • Like Spice and Wolf but younger
Intricate plots involving politics, war and trade underpinning an awkward romance.

The characters are a bit less mature regarding their sexuality than the ones in S&W, and it might be a little easier to keep up with.

If you hated "Spice and Wolf" (which I totally LOVED) then stay away from this one.

  • Seriously Worth Watching!
If you enjoy a great story with a slight twist, then Maoyu will certainly deliver. I was hooked after the 1st episode, and have been watching it every since. As one reviewer said previously, leave your expectations at the door!
I don't know about anyone else, but I also love the intro!!!

    A defininate must watch!
This is a great anime, I didn't know what to expect when I dropped it in my que, but I'm so glad I did. This anime has a similar feel to Spice & Wolf. Give it a shot, guarantee you'll absolutely love it!

Leave your expectations at the door.
To be honest, I was not sure what to expect for this show when I first decided to give it a try. I knew it would not be your normal fare, and I hoped it would be something worth watching. The first episode hooked me right away. The story is an intelligent and thought provoking look at an interesting decision made by two people who by all rights should be enemies. If I were going to categorize ...

Not for people looking for standard fantasy action
In the spirit of Spice and Wolf, this series takes on a certain innocence not often seen in modern series. Most would scoff at a middle-schooler for still being a virgin; perhaps making him/her a target of bullying as a result. Maoyu takes a step back from all that. Instead of the hyped-up drama of a teenage, high school life (usually with something unusual tacked on like a love septagon and/or ...

Who needs plot! We have breasts!
Call me a fool but I thought this would be the Game of Thrones of anime when I first heard the plot summary. I thought, great! Politics, war, treachery, scheming, and great battles! All with what I felt that Song of Ice and Fire was lacking, a more consistent hero with a clearer goal, making it a serious anime that could go down as one of the greats. What I got instead was unbelievable characters, ...
