While I will admit that this anime is incredibly cute, it pales in comparison to its original source. I find myself constantly disappointed by anime adaptations of Visual Novels, primarily due to the fact that they tend to mash together all of the routes in attempt to delve into each character. This approach leads to either not showing character depth in order to prevent an attachment to the characters, or developing a character too much and suddenly dropping them and their plot to move on to the next character. This anime experiences both issues.
The first few episodes had a very heavy focus on Airi, the school role-model/classic tsundere, and did a very good job developing her emotions and feelings towards the protagonist quite well. Unfortunately, after episode 5 or 6, her thoughts are barely brought into play at all, and only hinted at a couple times for the remaining half of the anime. A similar situation of over-development occurred with Sana, the almost childishly violent and dishonest modern tsundere. While this attachment towards her character in specific lent a good portion of the plot, her cliche "As long as he's happy" attitude almost feels like a cheap trick to wrap up the series. With such a heavy focus on these two characters, the should-have-been primary heroine, the senpai Miu got a lot less development than she deserved to suddenly have the 'I love you' moment. This is, of course, not even mentioning the almost complete lack of detail towards the maid character Ange and the protagonist's younger sister Sakuno, who at least in this adaptation had about the same depth as that of an inflatable kiddie-pool in someone's back yard.
Having said that, I will give the anime some merits as well. It did a very good job in developing the characters (that it actually focused on) and both the animation and voice acting were exceptional as compared to many others that I have seen; let alone how cute Pannya and his expressions were.
As the series started off I felt that it had an amazing amount of potential, however nearing the end I just felt as if there was too much of the story left untold.
