Randagio is in fact puss. I'm pretty sure it's Italian for a stray cat (or dog). I thought Val might be like the wolf in red riding hood when I first saw him... but pretty quick that made no sense.

Randagio the cat is supposed to be Puss In Boots I'm assuming as he's the most famous fairytale cat I can think of who has his own story like the rest of the fairytale characters in this series ^__^
