There's a reason for that, which in part has to do with Japanese cultural differences nocka. Keep watching and you'll eventually see. (Or at least you should if they follow what's in the manga) It's not exactly as it appears to be.

There's one thing I really hate about those last chapters that kinda spoil things. It's that the afro-american boy is always bowing to the rich white man. it's racism in a very obvious way. why do they emphasize it so much? it's irrtating
