One of the classics that will never be forgotten

Gundam Wing was one of the first dubbed series I loved to watch on TV. I always loved coming home from school and plopping in front of the TV to watch it. I grew up watching Anime and because of shows like this on TV back in the day I continue to watch Anime now. To me, it is a classic. Gundam Wing was one of the first dubbed series I loved to watch on TV. I always loved coming home from school and plopping in front of the TV to watch it. I grew up watching Anime and because of shows like this on TV back in the day I continue to watch Anime now. To me, it is a classic. Its also an Anime that can even intrigue non Anime lovers and I think its mostly because of the whole mecha concept of the whole series. Given that the series is so old Im sure people who watch it now would say the animation and music sound bad, but I think that if you consider that it was made in the 90s it has extremely good animation and music. In fact, Im sure that anyone who watched the series when it came out, and never re-watched in until now, could still hum along to the opening song. I know I sure did.
This a great series that has a good plot, plenty of action, and will keep you wanting to watch more. Although the series is long, it doesnt seem long enough. You will keep wanting more even after the series is done.

Gundam Wing lives up to expectations of the epic Space Opera genre as cultivated by the legacy of Gundam

I have to admit that when I was a chlid I would catch glimpses of random Gundam series but, being young and indifferent, I overlooked its scale of imagination and appeal, opting to watch anime like Saber Rider, Cowboy Bebop, Akazukin Chacha, Trigun and Gibli films (oh and Pokemon... Heh) instead.

It was only recently within the past few years, after a friend had shown me the first few episodes ...

I have to admit that when I was a chlid I would catch glimpses of random Gundam series but, being young and indifferent, I overlooked its scale of imagination and appeal, opting to watch anime like Saber Rider, Cowboy Bebop, Akazukin Chacha, Trigun and Gibli films (oh and Pokemon... Heh) instead.

It was only recently within the past few years, after a friend had shown me the first few episodes of 00 which left me immensely impressed, that I succumbed to Gundamania and proceeded to watch both seasons of 00, SEED+DESTINY+STARGAZER and Char's Counterattack, leaving me with a deep rooted desire to watch even more Space Operas in all of their epic glory. I had come to the revelation that the Gundam legacy was built on more than just cunning marketing and flashy mecha-battles set in space but also intricately weaved plots with diverse, solid characters, each with their own motivations and "raison d'etre", playing out their roles in an unwinding fate.

In this aspect, Gundam Wing does not disappoint and the protagonists are great and appealing. When comparing the practically superhuman and serious Heero Yuy, who in an almost utilitarian sense would aim to complete his mission despite the cost, and Zechs Marquise, a worldly humanitarian and heir of pacifist ideologies, their ideals almost run parallel but the latter would prefer to gamble with his own life and minimize the risk to others. In a fascinating twist, their roles initially seem to be reversed with Zechs working for the "evil" Oz organisation and Heero rebelling against their militaristic and tyrannical ambitions and I feel that it is this blending of morals which questions the division between right & wrong that is a central part to the unfolding story.

With that said, I still need to watch the conclusion of this show but I already feel I will not be disappointed and I offer my thanks to Sunrise for their collaboration with Crunchyroll to bring us this classic piece of Gundam history!

Oh wow... where to begin. I've been watching Gundam for as long as I can remember, and one thing's for sure, I started with Gundam Wing~!

Oh wow... where to begin. I've been watching Gundam for as long as I can remember, and one thing's for sure, I started with Gundam Wing~!
At first I didn't understand a thing ( cause I was 8? ) but re-watching it, I've fallen in love with each series, even the original, Mobile Suit Gundam. It pains me to see Gundam Wing leave Crunchyroll. First off, I haven't finished re-watching it, and second, cause it's such a difficult anime to find online in such good quality, and not to mention SUB'd.

As for the review part of this, I'm glad to say that the storyline over-all is pretty good. It's not like Gundam Seed's copy storyline of Mobile Suit Gundam, where they're saved in by war-ship but have to fight, but it was a unique type of storyline about how the colonies send their own type of "rebellion" against both forces, Earth Alliance and OZ, and how each character has their own struggle against how they react and fight the war in their own way. The... the Gundams in the series are, in my eyes, alright, but a few of them could have been better. Especially Sandrock. Quatre used it well, but I feel like it needed a bit more firepower, although the swords were KICK-BUTT~
The animation, I've seen a lot of people give the animation a low score, but I hope that they keep in mind that this was made in 1995, so the animation isn't going to be on par as to what it is right now. But for me, keeping that in mind, I gave them a pretty high score. Again, it's not the greatest I've seen, but for something from back then, yeah, it's pretty good!

OH, MY DEAR GUNDAM WING~
Again, it pains me to know that Gundam Wing is being taken off of the site, but it was great getting to watch it again and I thank the staff and everyone else who worked to get it on the site... but all good things must come to an end, so... * sigh *

Gundam Wing is an anime classic, It was made many years ago but still holds. I have watched Gundam Wing since I was a kid, it was one of the first anime shows that I watched and that got me into anime in the first place. It is one of the anime that will leave an impact on me and many other people.

Everyone should at least watch this once in their lifetime.

This anime is about a boy named (heero yuy) .codename. He is a gundam pilot that has been sent by one of the colonies. He is the pilot of gundam wing. He was traveling to earth, but on the way he got attacked by colonel zechs mercuise. His gundam got taken down and is in the ocean. Heero than got washed ashore on earth. A passer by named relena peacecraft saw him and ran to him. To find out more ...

This will always be a classic mecha. Any mecha fan that has not seen this will definitely want to add this to their library of seen animes. Even though in my younger years I had watched this whole series it only grew better with time and as I watched it again I can say I enjoyed it even more.

This will always be a classic mecha. Any mecha fan that has not seen this will definitely want to add this to their library of seen animes. Even though in my younger years I had watched this whole series it only grew better with time and as I watched it again I can say I enjoyed it even more.

Heero is a complex character that has basically trained his whole life to be a Gundam Pilot. His training has allowed him to react and survive situations that can only be described as non-human. There is one comparison made in the show were they say based of of the data their could not have been a human piloting the Gundam. And of course worth mentioning is Heero's constant need to self destruct what he is piloting.

Overall this series comes together quite nicely and will keep you on the edge of your set until the end. The deep history of the characters and sometimes very emotional reactions just adds to the overall mood of the series. Whether it is the political maneuvering of the various factions or the overall defiance of the Gundams this is a must see that you will enjoy until the end.

In fact, one of them may have been Mobile Suit Gundam Wing when it aired on Toonami back in 2000. If the story line in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing is any indication for other Gundam animes, I can see why. You have to be there for the whole thing! That being said, it was a pleasure to finally ...

I've watched episodes of various Gundam animes here and there over the years and always felt completely lost. In fact, one of them may have been Mobile Suit Gundam Wing when it aired on Toonami back in 2000. If the story line in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing is any indication for other Gundam animes, I can see why. You have to be there for the whole thing! That being said, it was a pleasure to finally watch one in it's entirety! I thoroughly enjoyed the complexity of the plot and the depth of the characters in this anime. It's certainly not the eye candy that was Macross Frontier when it came out a few years ago, but stands the test of time. The story is and old one, but seen through the eyes of 5 young Gundam pilots in the year After Colony 195. Each has his own unique perspective on what it means to pilot a mobile suit and base their actions on those perspectives accordingly. There are plenty of mecha battles, explosions, strong heroes, tortured anti-heroes, and dynamic heroines to keep anyone entertained from start to finish.

I first watched Gundam Wing on Cartoon Network. And I was only able to re-watch 34 episodes of this epic series, but I think I can give it a pretty fair review: Almost every episode is satisfying with either good battles, plot twists, or new surprises (more mobile suits!). There were around 3 filler episodes which summarized the story but other than that I didn't notice any fillers. The animation ...

There were around 3 filler episodes which summarized the story but other than that I didn't notice any fillers. The animation is pretty darn good and with only a few recycled scenes here and there. The main characters have some depth to them. The one thing that gets me is how easily the Gundam pilots are able to hijack planes, cars, anything! Seems like in the future, everyone just leaves the key in. =D

Pretty good but Gundam Seed was the best version in the series.

I really love this old style of animation, I suppose because I grew up on this style. The music cracks me up, but I love it too! As far as storyline goes, it's pretty good but just doesn't compare to Gundam Seed. That series was perfection. Overall, I liked this series but I probably would not watch it again.

Gundam Wing was the first Gundam anime that i watched, so how can i review it, well after i saw it i took my time to see all the other gundam series, both past and present.
My first impression of it was "wow what an interesting story", my second impression was "omg an well made dub (english language)", this is the only anime that i have seen all of in both English and Japanese language, the translations and voices was superb and top class when compared to other translations of animes i have seen, and my third impression of it at the end was "this is a great anime i might wana watch it again (and again)". In fact i have seen the entire series at least 5 times, while other series i have at most only seen 3 times.
The ending of it tho, it was a great ending but it was abit short cut, well most likely they simply saved it for the follow-up OVA that was named "Gundam W Endless Waltz" that one plays out after the final episode and really sett a firmer cap on the ending, if you liked the main series Gundam Wing you will absolutely LOVE to see the OVA as well, to not see the OVA after the full series would be like buying a dictionary that does not come with words beginning on G/W/X/Y/Z (Gundam Wing would never be mentioned in such a dictionary "cry").
This series is worth having your children and grand-children see, even as far in as 20-50 years into the future (when they are old enough for it, i recomend 12-16+ age if watching alone), if you wanna em to see some great quality entertainment that don't try force ideals into em while still having decent moral values come with it, if that is what you seek than this is what you will find, especially for guys, even if many women might enjoy it an slight less they would most likely still consider it worth watching.
