Gundam Wing: The ultimate Gundam, The most epic anime!

This is by far my most favorite anime of ALL time. I watched it on tsunami way back when I was in elementary school. This turned out to be a big part of my life and brought me together with friends and family members I never even thought it would.

The story is fantastic. It's not afraid to be brutal and fast. The characters are very versatile as well. Some are kind hearted, round, flat, or even ...

The story is fantastic. It's not afraid to be brutal and fast. The characters are very versatile as well. Some are kind hearted, round, flat, or even psychotic. There is something for everyone.

The music is intense. I remember loving it. Quatre was actually one of the characters who inspired me to pick up violin years back.

The animation is great as well. You can see a bit of an age to it because its an older anime. But for some reason I still see it as a better animation then most are today. This anime is much more serious then those of today too. No fancy 30 second over exaggerated transformations we have grown to love.

I don't want to go to in depth with this review so I kept it kinda short. In reality if I did go too in depth it would be more biased then it already is! I'm just saying. Check this show out while you have the chance!

Brings back memories of when I was young

I am glad to see this show for the first time since it's initial run on Toonami. It brings back many fond memories of discussing it with friends from school. Great story, music and animation. With this release I hope they release more of the other series like G Gundam.

Besides the invulnerable bishounen element, virtually everything in Gundam Wing has been done before, making Gundam Wing another addition to a long line of anti-war shows. Despite being “anti-war,” the show hypocritically and incessantly preaches peace while resolving everything with explosions. The characters spew out various ideologies in mid-battle, creating philosophy undermined by eye candy. ...

Despite being “anti-war,” the show hypocritically and incessantly preaches peace while resolving everything with explosions. The characters spew out various ideologies in mid-battle, creating philosophy undermined by eye candy. It doesn’t help that the entire cast is flat and static, but at least the viewer never has to worry about character development taking time away from fight scenes.

The visuals make one wonder if Tomino gets a larger budget whenever he creates a Gundam series. The art may be shinier, but the animation is comparable to the likes of Zeta Gundam, and, at times, possibly inferior. The sheer lack of detail and the vast amount of reused cels are painfully noticeable. The only thing that sets Gundam Wing apart from its predecessors is its modern character designs and beautiful J-pop pieces. Being bishounen, the characters look quite suave, and the incredible music artificially induces excitement making the long-winded fight scenes a lot more bearable to watch.

Gundam Wing is very much like a mediocre fan fic: while some elements are cool the overall product is trash. The OST is more than worth buying, but the same cannot be said about the anime. Go watch any other old school Gundam series instead. Unlike Gundam Wing, they pack flair with substance.

Have played alot of the gundam games and have loved all the ones I have played. But really havent had much exposure until I signed up for crunchyroll which gave me the chance you watch gundam wing and once I started got hooked. One of the best Gundam series to be ever made. The story of this series focus on what hatred can do(revenge), power controlling, and world domination wanting can do and also the usual world peace saving. The characters past are all hidden in the beginning, as the story continues you learn more and more about each main characters' past and see them change as the story develops. As always in Gundam, the highlight is always the fight scenes, with the "Gundams" being the overpowering mechas piloted by 5 young pilots from different "colonies" (space city/colonies) sent down to earth to destroy an organisation called "OZ". As the story develops you come to an understanding that there is more than just fight between mechas and a really interesting story of how the main character fight to survive, and live their lives.

This series' story will make you continue to watch it, even when you finish watching, it makes you want more and re-watch it over many time.

Definitely worth spending hours watching this, as its just one of the best animes you can find. Action-packed, entertaining, good story line, good animation.... what else can we ask for in an anime?! Out of all the gundam series that have been coming out, I always find my self drawn back to Gundam Wing. One of the greatest aspects of the series is the story and the characters. Although the story could have small dips and slow down periods, it seems that everything that comes after these small dry periods always make up for it. As for everything else it seems that the animations felt a little rigid after watching different anime but it still looks great. My biggest complaint of the series is that some of the characters seem to change a little too much through out the series. Also there seems to be some moments that are questionable in a character's reasoning. Basically some of the time characters become hypocrites to their own virtues for some reason. Although it seems that this review is mostly negative, these are little nit picky things, and if I were to list all of the great things about the series, well I would need a bigger space. All in all I highly recommend this series, there are some small hitches but these problems are tiny in comparison to the rest of the great things about this series.
