My Little Monster

The Review:

Summer break is here, but it’s something that Shizuku just can’t view as something fun. What’s got her dragging pretty hard at this point is that she just got her testing back and came in at a 689. She intended to score higher, though others in her class are just struggling with getting close to 300 for a grade. It paints a pretty clear and simple picture of her view of her school work and why she intends to just double down and focus on studying. But the problem comes in the question that she got wrong, which wasn’t really wrong, but a matter of interpretation about broken hearts. Naturally, that gets her to thinking about Haru again which always leaves her with conflicting feelings.

While she’s gotten to know the real him, he’s still the glaring bad guy of the school. Most of this comes from his demeanor as he’s always glaring, though it turns out he’s not aware he’s doing it. So he takes Shizuku’s advice and stops glaring and starts smiling more, so it doesn’t take long for many of the girls to suddenly fall for him, realizing how handsome he is. It’s all in the power of eye-contact as he discovers, and that just leads to some amusingly uncomfortable moments for Shizuku. And for Haru as well as he’s just not sure how to handle all of it for the most part. His nature hasn’t changed though and we see him get into a minor rough fought with some bullies on the school campus, but when everyone sees this side of him made clear, it erases the goodwill that he had gotten.

Yet even with this, we see that it’s Shizuku that sees through to the real him again as she’s definitely fallen from him. And hard. So when they have a small moment together, it’s enough for him to invite her out to go someplace for summer break. And that means fishing, swimsuits and fun with friends together. Haru’s comical in this in a lot of ways but there’s just a good time had by all with it while including a nice bit of fanservice. The pair have some good fun but the show takes a bit of an odd direction later on when things come up about money extortion and watermelon smashing. But the real fun part of it is that we get Haru and Shizuku together in the darkened streets together for a bit and it’s a chance for them to be honest. Or at least her as Haru is closed mouthed about the things she wants to know about him in regards to his brother.

In Summary:
My Little Monster continues to be a show that just feels a little bit odd in so many ways. I like the basic premise of it and I really like that there’s a fun dance of sorts going on between the two leads since Shizuku realizes that she really likes him but isn’t entirely sure why. It plays more to the way love is just mysterious with how it works. For Haru, he’s having to deal with a lot of stuff and there’s things under the surface that it looks like we’re going to start getting a look at, which is pretty welcome since it seems to revolve around his brother at least at the start here. The show has a fun feel about it even with the awkward flow at times, but it has that kind of capricious nature about it that hits some sweet spots for me and leaves me wanting to see more, flaws and all.

I normally don't like shoujo because they take forever to confess and they make the stupidest bs decisions (*cough*Peach Girl*cough-scream-at-tv*), but this one is so fast paced and full of interesting characters (they have a chicken!!). Was hooked after the 1st ep, watched the rest of the eps available on crunchyroll, and read all the manga chapters available. Definitely going to continue watching/reading.

Bem, Haru (foto) não é bem um exemplo de pessoa normal. Ele encara todos fazendo as pessoas se afastarem dele. Contudo, com esse afastamento ele passou o ensino fundamental sem ir a a escola, assim passou o seu tempo livre estudando. Ele também é forte, consegue levantar e jogar alguém apenas usando uma mão. Shizuku é frustada, pois ele tira as melhores notas da escola, contudo, ao ver que ele era inocente, defende ele, o que o faz gostar dela.

Meu monstrinho é uma típica história de amor, onde ele faz tudo por ela, que ainda está descobrindo a vida e não pensa duas vezes ao trocar ela mesma por ele.

Meu Monstrinho (tonari no kaibutsu-kun) um Shōjo um tanto diferente dos habituais. Ele oferece uma historia romântica e consegue ir alem, tendo também muitos personagens que esbanja carisma. O manga deu inicio em 2008! O estúdio Brain's Base(Durarara!!, Ixion Saga DT, Sengoku Collection) fico a cargo da animação.o que mais me chamou a atenção nesse anime foi a personagem Mizutani que é uma menina diferente do habitual dos Shōjo, já que ela é insensível é ate um tanto fria mais isso é algo ruim? Não isso faz ela ser diferente o anime conta com muitos outros personagens bom! O fato é que si você não curte Shōjo ou si você curte vai gostar desse anime eu garanto! É muito agradável e uma ótima experiência.

Fast paced, interesting and full of interesting characters. The two main characters are both interesting to watch (by themselves and together) and the supporting cast is very funny and offers a lot to the overall dynamic of the show. This show is absolutely hilarious. Combining humour, romance and character depth is rare, yet so gratifying when it's done successfully. My little monster is a prime example of an intelligent shoujo romance. However the lead female does feel a little TOO tsundere at times.

The pacing in this show is quite fast so be ready and don't blink!

At first I was really thrown off by how fast the story developed...it felt as if 4 episodes were all rolled into one thus everything felt rushed. From character interaction to each episodes story and plot, it changed so rapidly that I thought "maybe my video player is being weird and it's skipping along the time line," but that was not the case.

I was irked after discovering there was no glitch in the video playing, and I came to the conclusion that whoever was the writer for this series did not handle it delicately. But instead of just moving on to another show, I felt like I was missing the whole idea behind the show...there has to be a reason why it was written the way it was.

So I sat through and watch every episode available (1-5). I discovered that this show is down right charming and hysterical. The story's pacing and development is odd because the two main character's are odd and how they interact with each other coincides with the weirdness of the pacing.

I am so use to character relationships and anime plot devices developing at a very leisurely pace...sometimes development is painfully slow. So watching "My Little Monster" has been down right refreshing! It's not your typical romance story but love in the first place is quite odd and very weird at times.

I highly recommend this series!
