    Mysterious Girlfriend indeed!
A couple of episodes in I was still trying to get my head around the theme of the show (exchanging saliva) it's wired but fascinating in a strange way. The Characters are all likeable enough and I'm finding myself getting more hooked with each episode.

    Great Show Great Show
Your first instinct is going to be ewww! But once you get over that you'll realize that can love everything else about this show. The throwback drawing style, the character quirks, and of course the teenage angst. I don't know where it's going but I'm totally along for the ride.

    Wait... WHAT??? Oh... :)
I have only watched a few episodes (4) but so far I really enjoy the show and will continue watching. At first it was odd.. hell the whole thing is odd and very confusing... But i suppose that's what makes Mysterious Girlfriend X so damn addicting! Its different than any other anime I have ever watched, its very refreshing!! X3

A confusing romance tale involving intrigue, drool, and a little bit of boredom.
    A Full Review:

Mysterious Girlfriend X sure is a mysterious show indeed. The show's strange plot devices and relationships makes for a weird yet somewhat fulfilling enough adventure.

Urabe is a very strange girl. Using the plot device of drool, she and Tsubaki have a rocky yet involved relationship. Yea, I said that right... drool. Apparently drool between anyone and Urabe causes that ...

So far so good, but cant say much yet.
First I am going to warn you ahead of time, at the time of me writing this review only 3 episodes have been released, use that information as you will. I was originally intrigued by the strangeness and the originality of the plot. Honestly, first few minutes in I thought to myself, "You've got to be kidding me! This is so freaking weird!" I decided to stick with it and finish the first episode and ...

My guilty pleasure turned into an anime.
A few years ago I began reading a manga called Mystery Girlfriend X. Now, I'm not a fan of ecchi themes (which this manga has) but Urabe's quirky personality really stuck with me so reading it became a guilty pleasure. After a while ,for some reason, I stopped reading it and Mystery Girlfriend X faded from my memory.
When I learned that Mystery Girlfriend X would get an anime adaptation, I got ...

  • A Genuinely Interesting Character
What this anime does right, above all else, is introducing a character that is unique/weird/interesting/different/etc. More often then not, the characters in anime who are considered "different"are otakus/neets. These people are often identified in groups. IE: different, but not-so-unique. Mikoto takes everything about the definitions of unique and weird and different, and runs with it.

  • Dunno why I even bothered reviewing this...
I'm seeing all these 5/5 ratings, but I honestly don't know what people see in this garbage.

After reading the manga watching the anime, I had come to the conclusion that this was a complete waste of time. The character development is minimal and the relationship between the two protagonists barely changes from start to end. There's no decent build up of anything, no distinguishable plot - ...

  • Cant Recommend enough
Sweet, funny, unexpected, and it grows on you quickly. Any fan looking for a story or building romance with actual character development will enjoy this. Thankfully it i not at all complicated when it comes to story or character development. It definitely met all of mine.
