Besides the usual whole bunch of fluid action with this series, I actually find it to be quite an interesting love-story. The storyline does not seem to have a childish antagonistic evil villain, but instead focuses on the different relationships that form around the main characters, which is a nice change. In a moral sense, I also find it to be quite clean and decent, as the relationships seem to be quite mutual and the characters exhibit respect to the spaces and wishes of one-another. I also find it amusing in that the behavior of the characters are so totally their ages, which is quite nice to think back about the times when I was their ages. I also enjoy appreciating the details such as a lunch-box wrapped in a napkin - I used to also carry a little rectangular lunch box, and even carried mine in a napkin just like that. When I think back, I can even sense the aroma of the curry and steamed rice in it, with little fresh cucumbers and veges on the side. If you want to know how to wrap a lunch-box in a napkin, please post a note on my page.
Anyways, back to the review - I got into the show so much and I wanted to find out so badly as to what was going to happen next that I found myself watching Episode-4, even though someone had forgotten the subtitles, trying to push my limited Japanese vocabulary so that I could follow the story the best I could. I am hoping that they would turn the subtitles back on, as I am planning to watch the episode again to see what I may have missed.
The show is not for everyone, especially not for kids - they would not enjoy it anyways. They would probably say ewwww. As for me, I find it interesting and quite entertaining. I guess there is a reason why shows have ratings. I'd say this one would be rated as Ecchi and Seinen, and the category would definitely be in Slice-of-life. If you are a kid, this show is not for you.
Update - the subtitles are there on Episode-4 now. Thanks, Crunchyroll!
