This is a clutch moment for the series that was handled very well. I acknowledge that. BUT! It doesn't stop me from hating the ramifications. Naruto and Sakura never get over Sasuke, and it screws up the rest of the show.

you guys are misunderstanding. sasuke's arigatou is him trying not destroy sakura as he leaves. he doesn't love her, its just that his vendetta is with itachi. he still has somewhat of a heart at this point, so he tries not to destroy her.

The 'thank you' that Sasuke said will always comfort me at times when I want to kill him (Shippuden is so different)xD. It was just so caring, and if you notice closely Sasuke bites his lip before he says it, showing some type of hesitation

in all honesty, the reason i never hated sasuke and he remained one of my favorite characters was that one line 'arigatou' the sign of how thankful he is that someone cares(whether that changes later is irrelevant)

Sakura is something you can't describe with words. She has a love that cannot be crushed but will break her will to fight. Sasuke does NOT love you or even like you at all it's not great to love him forever just slowly start to understand.

Sakura becomes useful in Shippuden. She's a genius at controlling her chakra, putting her a level above any of the other Leaf genin. In the anime, both she and Ino study to be medical nin but she proceeds far faster than Ino.

I feel for Sakura, but at the same time, I can't help thinking she deserves being treated like garbage. She chose the cool, "elite" jerk based on his status and his looks, not his personality. It's shallow. He's belittled her from day one!!
