A show should not end up directing sympathy towards a dangerous monster
In the first episode, the protagonist grabs a fork and stabs Nyaruko with it. My reaction at this point was, as you might expect, something along the lines of, "Jesus Christ, dude! She was just being a little overexcited! If she's annoying you that much, how about you use your big boy words and say something like an adult! What the heck is wrong with you!?"

As the series went on, the ...

    Another Harem Disappointment
This series follows traditional harem style and revolves around a bunch of girls that love one guy. This makes it so there is next to no character development and everything become predictable. The up side to it is that it is filled with pop culture references from both Japan and the U.S. which provides a bit of a comedic effect different from typical harem comedy. Overall, watch if you don't ...

  • Lose SAN, have fun doing it.
This is nonsense at its finest. Don't worry about the plot, because it's little more than an excuse for the resulting express train of absurd situations, ecchi harem tropes delivered by the shovelfull, perverse humor, fourth-wall breaking, and references atop references to everything from Lovecraftian literature to gaming to every anime you've ever seen and some you haven't. Honestly, half the fun ...

  • Silliest Lovecraft Ever
I can't help but be drawn to anime that has a very demented take on the Cthulhu mythos. On the surface, it might seem like a bit of a harem style anime, but the male lead really only has one girl to deal with romantically.

The male lead is surprisingly interesting, and isn't shy about asserting himself in the face of (cute) eldritch abominations. The female lead, Nyarko, alias Nyarlathotep, is ...

I want to like this but.................
I want to like Nyarko-san but I can't. In short, the story de-rails in the mid episodes and doesn't get going again. It ends up as a Punch and Judy beat down. The male lead is constantly beating the female lead. Yes I know it's just an anime. I just don't like that. Characters are shallow. Art is okay. Music is ok. Just average in my book. If beating a female as humor or story line, is ok, then ...

  • 4 stars for 1st season, 3 for 2nd season
I'm generally not such a fan of the "harem" genre of anime, but I've read a lot of Lovecraft so I figured I'd watch and episode or two to see what the creators were going to do with the material.

And I was presently surprised. The 1st season of "another crawling chaos" managed to pack in quite a few Lovecraft references, as well as lots of video game and anime/manga related humor. It also ...

    Ecchi gladiatorettes from space
I've restarted this review three times now... it's hard to summarize my thoughts on the series... OK, now I've restarted four times; let's try this... In its plot, writing and character design the show aims at young teen viewers, and it is successful in that goal. But the overly abundant, overly enthusiatic ecchi scenes are often too graphic (bordering on 'cihpargonrop') and they both distract and ...

First off, I'll make it easy for you people looking to watch this anime. I'll make this review into a short pro/con review so it's easier. The anime doesn't have that much depth to it, (it can depending on how some people look at it) but in my opinion it's pretty much a parody fest with a lot of comedy and cuteness.

    Pros
    -Hilarious
    -Voice actors ...

    Nyaruko-san: Another Crawling Chaos
    Supporting Characters: 7
    Lead Characters: 9
    Plot: 7
    Animation: 8
    Ending: 0

    6.2/10

The lead characters were cool but all the other characters in general were pretty annoying. The plot is...about average and I found that I couldn't even finish this show it was so uninteresting to me.

I have never before seen something I love ruined so completely.
I love HPL. I like anime. Hell, I even like cute animes that go nowhere. I'll say it: I think Sakura Trick was good and charming. I will watch that show again, it was amusing and adorable.

This show has nothing good. Everything about it is a nightmare and causes you to question why you like anime at all.

I'll admit it, I did only watch this'n because I'm a Lovecraft fanatic, but you still ...
