    Watch once, then watch again
Pale cocoon tells an interesting story in a round about way. You see the story unfurl more or less as if you were the main character as he uncovers bits and pieces of his people lost past. Watch it once, then after you seen what the world is like, go back and watch it again to see all the subtle details that you may have missed. It is only 23+ minutes long and well worth the second ...

Pale Cocoon - Short but Sweet
Although Pale Cocoon is only 23 minutes long, it is still very enjoyable. The animation is gorgeous. The music is nice. The story is able to be told in it's short time span.
I was left wanting more when it ended.

Pale Cocoon is suppose to confuse you on purpose --- Say what?
Okay, here's the deal, what I believe the writer was trying to attempt in Pale Cocoon, was not to undermine the intelligence of the audience. If anything I think what the writer tried to do was challange the viewer. It's a bit of a complicated story and the writer uses A LOT of hidden visual and rhetorical devices like repetition, symbolism, metaphors, etc... The fact that this show is ...

  • Short, but will linger in your mind long after its done
The writer(s) cram in a lot of story into 25 minutes. This show is a dense as a flourless chocolate cake, so you will probably need to watch it more than once to understand everything that goes on. That said, even with just one viewing, I was impressed with how tangible and solid the characters and their world were. The climax of the show is something I will turn around in my head for a long time ...

    Challenging but very engaging viewing
It takes some brain power to follow as the director is not spoon feeding but drip feeding you the story. The pace is so slow that it feels hellish, but that is precisely how you come to understand the world of Pale Cocoon. By the end of the show you know you never want to live in this world, and it makes you ask how many humans do we need on this planet? How many humans does it take to maintain a ...

  • Definitely something to watch once.
The animation style and storyline seem similar to the show ergo proxy, the animation is good, you probably wouldn't guess the ending, and its very intriguing, definitely one of my favorite OVAs. Overall definitely something to watch once.

  • Pale cocoon ova review, and hopfuly more.
This is a look in to the future of what might be. This sci-fi is about fragmented information about the distant past. The people seem to have given up hope on recovering and restoring the data, as it leads to saddens of a place that can no longer be. Despite this one man will go the distance for his answers

  • Pale Cocoon: An "Interesting" Piece
Personally, the best word I would use to describe this one is "interesting".
Perhaps it's because I'm not used to these sorts of shows, but I found that "Pale Cocoon" seemed to be lacking something. It takes a very subtle approach and has what I can best describe as an "empty air" sort of feeling. The animation is lovely( I especially love the computer designs) as is the music. Combined with an ...
