Problem Children are Coming from Another World, aren't they?

Well from the tittle you can get my point, after watching the preview and the first 3 episodes, i was really into it. Well you can say i lost the excitement. The only thing that kept me going was to see Sakamaki Izayoi full power. and WE DIDNT SEE IT!! i just think it was quite overrated leading to high expectations and finally disappointing people that expected something more (eg ME) i'll still recommend it, BUT JUST TO BE SAFE AFTER WATCHING THE FIRST 3 EPISODES DON'T GET YOUR HOPES UP.

Problem children is based in a world where all of you're wildest imaginations and fantasies are real, and three "problem children" with different powers are transported from earth to this new world via letters sent to each of them. As you can see from my star rating, this show did not captivate me as it did for most, and here is why. Simply put, the shows premise is not built on solid ground. May of the elements that make up this show are tattered or otherwise jumbled up into clumps of random fiction and lore. Though it is a fantasy world, which gives writers the ability to stretch their imagination, this world was written with hardly any governance.u have vampires, demon lords, wolf men, cat kids, sea monter(a God) judges with rabbit ears, roman like communities, medusa?, a jack o lantern guy, giant talking hawks, robots ect. throughout the entire show. Where is there any explaination of how this all came to be?? how does this worlds physics work? What governs the laws set in place for this other dimensional world? The only thing that seems to have some set boundaries to it is this system the world has set up so different communities can face off against each other to gain power and respect called gift games. And even that has no explaination of its origins. If none of that bothers you at all then I can see why you might give it a good rating, but for me, I need more than that. A world that is thought out completely and given purpose and meaning to it. Otherwise its just there to be there, and that's exactly what this show made it out to be. Characters were ok and somewhat developed but nothing out of the ordinary. As for action, I found it quite lacking and I never really looked forward to it like I should have. It was mostly one side beating the crap out of another, especially when it came to battles involving the overpowered boy named You. Art was ok but somewhat childish, as was the atmosphere and look of the show. The story I did follow but because of all these lacking elements I found it hard to stay focused most of the time, not really caring about the jibber jabber involving the different communities and evil demon lords that were seeking to destroy the land. I gave this a 3 out of 5 because it was simply average. It did not make any sense to me how this was given an average of a 4.9 out of 5... SAO, Fate Zero, Shin Sekai Yori, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, Attack on Titan all have lower average ratings than this show and all of these shows are masterpieces. Watch any one of those shows and you should see the astronomical difference in writing and production work put into those compared to this average joe show.

The setting of this anime is very intriguing, and offers a wealth of story possibilities that would be interesting to see them pursue. However, I find the characters rather irritating. Izayoi in particular drags the series down; he's insufferably smug, brilliant and effectively omnipotent. As such, there's never really any drama here; Izayoi will just punch the problem and it'll go away. The last few episodes at least show him struggling a bit, but they have to practically throw a god at him to do it. It's hard to be really interested in such a character. Asuka and Kasukabe are at least shown to have limits that they need to overcome or work around, and I'm interested to see them continue this series for that sake alone.

The series jumps off immediately, hurtling the protagonists into the world known as Little Garden. This gets us right into the excitement, but also leaves you a little confused about the characters. However, throughout the series more and more is revealed but not enough for you to actually grasp the truth behind the three original protagonists. Sadly, the series ends quickly, semmingly pressing the viewer on the edge of a cliff, the fall filled with a dizzying array of paths for this anime to take. All in all, I watched the whole series in a day, worth every second. Just don't expect a resolved ending. Happy watching!

Going to keep this short because I hate typing long messages on a touchscreen because of how many times I have to fix my typing errors. Interesting world, interesting characters, and this show could get serious or remain aloof as it was. Too short for my taste, unfortunately. My main interests is the male character as he was left with unanswered questions that irk me. He stands out from most characters, definitely. Not counting only his macho attitude, but more or less the combination of many attributes is what I mean. Although, I've only seen maybe a few more than a dozen or so animes only so don't get all pissy at me if you read that and disagree.

I'm genuinely shocked at all the five star ratings this show's gotten. Yes, it's entertaining, but it isn't anything special.

The plot revolves around three children with special powers being transported from different worlds (Or three different time periods, it doesn't really specify), into the world of Little Garden, a world supernatural powers are called "Gifts", and the resident use these Gifts to enter Gift Games in order for their communities to gain wealth, power, and prestige. The children, Izayoi, Asuka, and You are summoned by Black Rabbit, sent to a low-leveled "No Name" community, and try to help the community gain back their power and prestige.

The general plot, written on paper, isn't anything special. Nothing I haven't seen before in anime. However, anything that originally doesn't seem special or interesting doesn't mean that it can't be interesting. However, right from the first episode, the series didn't captivate me the way some of the other shows have this season. Now that I've finished watching all ten episodes, it never captivated me.

With the exception of Black Rabbit, I didn't find the main leads interesting, as I found You and Izayoi to be a bit one-dimensional (While I did find Izayoi to be awesome around episode 5 or 6 where he completely destroyed a bad guy in a fight, that wore off very quickly, and I just found him to be okay- just a typical overpowered badass that could be found in other anime. You is just boring.), Asuka is a bit more fleshed out as she first comes across as a snotty rich girl, but does have a compassionate side to her... that being said, I still didn't find her interesting enough to care about her getting the huge mecha thing in the last two episodes.

Now Black Rabbit, I found interesting, because while she is a total sex symbol, she's also very intelligent, kind, and can hold her own very well in fights- even to Izayoi, who is ridiculously overpowered. She has sex appeal, but she's useful and never felt like a waste of space. The funniest moments in the show revolve around her, and yes, she's my favorite character in the show.

Despite the fact that I think the show is just okay, it's not mediocre to the point where I felt that I wasted my life watching it; no, I didn't. While I did feel bored at times watching it (Specifically, the last couple of episodes), I still don't feel like I wasted my time. I did like Black Rabbit, some of the fights were good, and there were some genuine funny moments.

If they end up making a second season, I may possibly watch it... if I remember this anime by the time it comes out. It just seems really forgettable to me, and I don't think anyone will remember this show a few years down the line.

Tl;dr, you're not gonna feel like you wasted any time watching the series, but you're not gonna lose anything if you didn't watch a single episode. If you watch it, it's fine, and it's also fine if you don't.
